///Chapter 17///

Both Kevin & Gabriel are on top of each other.
I could see blood coming from both of their bodies but none of them will quit.

Daniel, Devin, Gerome, & Matthew are trynna break them apart.
Alicia is in the back screaming & cheering at the same time.
I'm pushing back a lot of willpower not to punch her right in the nose again to complete the job.

Danielle & Athena are side by side along with me worried about the outcome of this fight.

"IT TOOK ALOT FOR ME NOT TO PULL UP TO YOUR CRIB & BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA U! DO U ACTUALLY THINK THAT I WOULDN'T FIND OUT?!", Kevin yelled.

"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK! YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BETWEEN ME & LAURYN!", Gabriel yelled back.

What business do we even have together?! I swear this nigga living in a book......

"Oh really?!", Kevin yelled.

(Bam)
(Glass Shattering)

Kevin picked & shoved Gabriel on top of Alicia's car.
His back shattered the front of the car & glass shattered everywhere.

Alicia yells angrily as her car was now destroyed......ha! 😝😝😝

"Ok! Break it up u two! You're on school property!", yells a random teacher outta nowhere.

The both of them were finally pulled from each other.
They were huffing & puffing like bulldogs.

"C'mon! Let's go Kev!", Daniel yells as him & Devin help him walk to the car.

I looked up to see Gabriel with cuts & bruises on his cheek, his hair was a mess & had pieces of shimmering glass, & to top it all off a petty monster for a new hoe.
He looked up at me & squinted. Maybe because the sun was blocking his eyesight but I knew he could see me.
He wiped off his bloody lip & limped to the ground.

"Lauryn! Let's go.", Danielle yells grabbing my attention.

I run to my car with my eyes still focused on Gabriel.
I unlock the car as Danielle & Athena get in.

I got in my car & buckled my seat belt.

As I quickly backed up the car to get out of my parking space, I looked at the car mirror.
I drove off as I saw the whole parking lot filled with teenagers with cameras, a screaming Alicia, angry teacher, & a Gabriel getting smaller & smaller.

I followed behind Devin's car still trying to process all that's happened.

(1 Hour Later)

(Winces)

I stopped & looked at Kevin with worried eyes.
I signed with my hand, "Does it hurt?".

"No.....it's ok.", he says giving me a reassuring smile.

Why is he smiling? He has a purple eye, bruised shoulder, & a bloody lip.
On top of that his clothes are ripped! It's been an hour since we've arrived at Devin's house.....he hasn't talked about what just happened yet.......

On the bright side of all this, at least I finally met Devin's sister, Lexi. She looks exactly like Devin but more gorgeous curly hair & is 3 years older than us.
Devin said he has a younger sister also, named Jazzy. I haven't seen her yet but I hope to.

I put the white cloth down into the sink & put cold water on it so that the blood can wash away.
I look towards Kevin sitting on the toilet seat & wonder.

I shut the faucet & went in front of him.
He looked up confused.

I signed with my hand, "Why'd u fight?".

He looked down.
(Scoffs) "You really don't know why?", he states.
I nod my head no.

He opened his mouth like he was about to give a quick response but then closed it again.
He stayed quiet for about another 5 seconds then spoke up.

"Because he was gonna hurt u. What was I supposed to do? Grab a popcorn & chair, sit back & enjoy the movie? No! He wasn't gonna touch u on my watch & besides I still had anger running up my fists from last night.", he states getting up.

We were inches apart...our bodies & faces were a fingertip close to touching.

H-He fought for me......is this a moment? Are we having a moment?

"Nobody touches none of my friends.", he states.
Annnd moment's over....never get your hopes up Lauryn.

I sit back down & grab the towel again & start dapping on the cut on his bloody lip.
He sits back down confused at my quick reflex but let's me finish the job.
