Author's Note

As a small few of you may have discovered, this was once part of my Collections book on here.  Alas, because of the massive length of this "short story" as well as some of its other brethren, I've decided to break up the Collection and post some of the stories individually.  Which I feel is more of the right decision as plotting evolves and some of the other stories previously posted are no longer ... valid for the world in which I am working.

[Also, "short story" is a subjective term, which I'm sure you've noticed by the length of this beast, because I do not believe in the limits others have set for me.  (Line partially stolen from a chapter in my other story XXY.) No regrets.]

You have all noticed by now that I have posted the map of Parnon in each chapter, and I will attempt to do the same for others of my stories as time progresses.  It will also take time as I try to figure out borders and such, but we'll get there.  When we do, I hope you all appreciate my hard work.

For those of you brave enough to step into this blind, you're probably wondering what in the world I'm talking about.  Let me explain.

In 2013, I officially created the world of Vassel, beginning with the continent Letalis that is featured in my still-in-the-works/kind-of-on-hold-right-now book Lazarus.  Because the setting played such a major role in Lazarus, it meant I needed to do a lot of world building.  Thus, Vassel was born.  In an instant, she took on a life of her own and all of the stories I had ever thought of in the realm of fantasy converged on this expansive planet.  That is what I am posting here.  Parts of Vassel's past, present, and future.

I hope you enjoy it.
