I woke up to the sound of a sniper rifle.

'Holy hell, was it all a dream?' I thought as I shot upward. I looked around and saw I was still on the couch. I relaxed a little and took a deep breath. I flung my legs over the edge and held my head in my hands. Tai walked in and smiled.

"The rifle wake you?" he asked.

"Yes sir."

"Thought it would, that was Ruby training with Qrow."

"Qrow?"

"Their uncle. He's training with them out back."

"What time is it?"

"Nine in the morning, we thought we'd let you sleep. You had a long day."

"I did, thank you." I thought in my head, 'Ghost, sync my clock with this world. Gonna need it synced with this place for now.'

'Yes guardian,' he replied.

Tai smiled and continued, "If you want you can wa-"

"Actually I was gonna head into town, probably look around for a bit."

"I understand, we'll be out back if you need us. There's a town not too far from here. But the best places to see are in Vale. There's an airship into the city just north of the town."

I nodded and grabbed my bag, "I should head out then. I'll be back before dark sir."

"Stay out of trouble."

I smirked at that, "no promises."

I walked out the front door and started walking. I heard sniper rounds and shotgun blasts as I walked away.

'Those two kids are gonna go far,' I thought as I walked along. After what didn't seem like long I found the airship dock and waited for the next shuttle. I looked at the schedule while I waited. The next shuttle was do back any minute and the last one back would be as the sun was setting. I knew I'd be back way before then if everything went well.

'Hey Ghost?' I thought in order to not draw attention to myself.

"Yes Guardian?" he replied.

'Do me a favor, pinpoint where Tai's house was for me. I want a trans-mat zone there so we can just teleport back. Also, when we get to the shuttle drop off, drop a point there.'

"Yes sir, can and will do."

'Thanks, and you take it easy till I need you.'

"Got it, signing off for now."

The shuttle arrived and I boarded. I looked around and there weren't many people on. I guess it was still early. The ride took about twenty minutes. I let out a sigh as I stepped off the ship. There was a slight breeze, it felt refreshing and energizing. I looked around at the city and was a little amazed. The city was beautiful, much better than the tower back home. I went up and down the streets looking at the buildings. Most were pretty old, but in great condition. But then I got to the richer district. Houses were modern with very little wear and tear. You could tell the person's income without knowing their job.

I passed a small shop that had a sign in the window,

Help Wanted.

"Perfect," I said aloud. I looked up at the shop name and read it, "From Dust 'Till Dawn."

I walked in and looked around. It seemed like a normal shop, but they sold something odd. Crystals, of something called Dust. I would have to ask Ruby or Yang about it later that night. I talked with the owner, great guy. He was talking about how the last guy he hired left a couple weeks ago and he needed someone to replace him for a couple weeks. He also told me he had a loft for rent if I needed it.  I told him that I was looking for a job and was looking for a place to stay. He replied with saying they were both mine if I wanted them. I asked I could have a night to think about it, to which he said was fine. I thanked him and wished him a good day. I walked out of the store and kept looking around. There weren't any other shops that were hiring which was fine by me. I passed a barbershop and made a mental note as to where it was. I planed on getting my haircut once I made some spare money. I took a deep breath and looked at the sky. I was a little hungry but put this off. I needed money for food. As I was walking I heard a few gunshots from inside a nearby building. I looked up at it and I saw a building I love.
