You lied on your couch crying softly, you had just been dumped. You barley noticed the sound of someone knocking on the door.

"Who is it?" You yelled.

"Is me, let me in!" your close friend Jim Kirk yelled back.

"It's open!" You yelled, not even moving as you heard him walk in. He walked up to you with a tub of your favorite ice cream.

"Here, eat some, I know it will make you feel better," he said with a smile.

"Thanks," you mumbled before slowly eating ice cream.

"You know what, (y/n)? You deserve better than that jerk!"

"I guess, but who?"

"I don't know, you need someone funny and charming and bold and caring and someone who will always ether for you," Kirk told you.

"Hum, that's all great I just need to find someone like that," you replied.

"I think I have someone in mind," he told you.

"Who? Do I know him?"

"Uh yeah,"

"Perfect, do we get along well?" You questioned.

"Definitely," Kirk said confidently.

"Do you know if he's single?"

"He's very much single, I'm sure he would love to go on a date with you."

"Perfect, I'll have to think about going out."

"Why don't you just call him and ask him out now!" Kirk suggested.

"I don't think that's a good idea," you replied sheepishly.

"No it's great, here , give me your phone and I'll type in the number." Kirk said while reaching over and trying to take your phone.

"Wait a moment, let me prepare myself, I'm still not fully over my ex."

"Take your time," Kirk told you, and you did. It was almost 5 minutes later before you looked back over at Kirk.

"Alright, I'm ready," you told him before handing over your phone. He quickly typed in the number and handed you back the phone while it had started ringing.

"Oh my here we go," you said nervously. After a moment you heard a familiar sound and turned to see Kirks phone ringing. He quickly picked up the phone and smiled at you.

"Hi," he said through the phone.

"Hi you big dork," you replied with a laugh," you could have just asked me out."

"I was honestly afraid to," Kirk said," that says a lot because I'm not usually afraid of anything."

"That's a good point," you agreed, "So, dinner tomorrow at 7?"

"Sounds great, I'll pick you up, now enjoy your ice cream and get some sleep," Kirk replied before angling up and getting up to leave.

"I'll see you tomorrow," you told him.

"I'll see you then," he replied, leaving the room with his signature smirk plastered in his face.
