Chapter 11-Vampire in Training
"Again," Brandon said in a bored tone.
I tried hitting Brandon, but he easily dodged my attacks.
"What the heck was that?" He snapped as if I was stupid.
"I am trying, okay? Yelling at me isn't going to make me better," I was just as frustrated as he was. I was tired of learning how to fight, and he obviously enjoyed reminding me about it. We had been practicing for hours in his basement, and I felt no more prepared for battle than I did before.
"You know you must have been a really easy target. Jesus, Jackson probably didn't have to lift a finger to kill you, and he probably thought it would be real funny to have someone as pathetic as you be a vampire."
I really wanted to cry, but I also didn't want to see the perverse pleasure he would get from seeing me cry. He must have noticed I was about to cry because he got even angrier.
"Listen you have had a couple years to pretend your human, but your not. You are a vampire. Start acting like. Vampires don't cry. They don't have feelings-"
"No," I interrupted him angrily, "you are the one without feelings. I think that is the problem. I would rather work with Adam or George than you."
His eyes were getting blacker by the second. He gritted his teeth, but he didn't reply to my comments. He walked to a closet and started getting weapons. He threw a couple down at my feet a knife and a rather large gun.
"New strategy: we are going to start using real weapons, and they are going to fucking hurt. Unfortunately, they won't kill you."
I gulped. He had a huge gun in one hand, and he had a knife in the other. He had the gun aimed at me, and my ears rang as I heard the shot.
Out of nowhere I felt immediate pain in my shoulder. I screamed, shocked. I looked at him, and he had no reaction.
"Did you just shoot me?"
"If you don't get your sorry ass in gear, then you are going to be feeling a lot more of that. The first one was for hesitating. In the real world, you would be dead by now."
"But-"
I cried out again after I felt pain in my lower arm right below my elbow. As quick as I could, I picked a knife he had thrown at my feet. I tried to throw it at him, but he moved to quickly out of the way and towards me.
I jumped back, and I grabbed the next weapon- a gun. I unloaded a spray of bullets at him. I missed every single shot. He moved way quicker than me. He was only a blur in my vision. Soon I realized I was completely out of bullets. I threw it at him, and he chuckled as he dodged the worthless weapon easily.
"That was really stupid Cassie because now you have nothing," he told me as he came closer.
I gulped, and I tried to make a run for it. I didn't make it two feet before Brandon grabbed me by my injured shoulder causing me to cry out in pain. I slapped and punched him as much as I could in hopes that I could break his grip. He wrapped his other arm around my neck as he tried to choke or twist my neck. Desperate, I bit his arm, and he hissed as he let me go. I could taste his blood in my mouth. I was only free to crawl away for a moment though before he threw me against a nearby wall.
He glared at me hard with cold dark eyes as he suspended me in the air.
"You dare to bite me?" He asked too calmly.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I spoke. "Please, put me down Brandon. I am scared."
"You should be," he told me as he glared at my injured shoulder intently.
