Credence

Newts P.O.V

As much as I tried to sleep that night I just couldn't half of me was super excited and the other half was plain terrified.

I never really imagined myself getting married let alone being a father, and yet here I was next to the most beautiful woman in the world.

I thought about the night before and Leta. I always thought growing up that maybe Leta would change, see a better light in the world- I never thought she would grow worse.

And then I remembered Queenie telling me I needed a giver not a taker, and so far Tina had given me the world.

"Do you always watch me sleep?" she said, her eyes still closed.

I looked down completely embarrassed "sorry love I was just thinking,"

She grinned "I'm not mad,"

She kissed my forehead and climbed out of bed "I'm gonna go check on Credence," she said.

The Second Salem boy- he was still an obscurus, and Credence had lost control of it as much as I trusted Tina I didn't want her to exactly go alone I wasn't about to risk my wife and child.

"I'll come with," I said

She shook her head as if reading my thoughts "he's not gonna hurt me Newt," she said.

I bit my lip "I know, I just I don't know."

"I'll let you come with me, but you have to promise not to be overly protective in the future." She said

I laughed "but I always feel like one of us is always nearly dying," she pulled me up "and it's mostly you." She said as she kissed me and climbed the latter out of the case.

I followed her up, to the familiar living room of Queenie and Jacobs house, Queenie was in the kitchen with Jacob they were both baking away, they were truly a perfect match for each other.

"Hey Teen," Queenie said, Tina smiled "is Credence awake?" She asked, Queenie shrugged.

Tina grabbed my hand and walked over to the guest room, she knocked on the door "Credence? Are you awake?"

No answer

Tina bit her lip and slowly opened the door Credence was sitting on the bed staring at the wall.

"Can I come in?" She asked, Credence gave a slight nod.

Tina walked over to him still holding my hand.

"It's ok Credence your safe now," Tina said trying to comfort him, but all that was going through my mind was well he's still an mobscures so he's defiantly not safe, but I figured it wouldn't be appropriate to say that.

"NEWT!" I heard Queenie yell from the kitchen, Tina looked at me confused and I just put my head down. Of course Queenie had to bring attention to it, and Queenie if you're reading my thoughts don't react!

I turned my attention back to Credence, I knelt down beside Tina "we can help you," I said "you just have to trust us."

"I can't do anything right," Credence whispered. Tina immediately spoke up "Credence that's not true, people have just been using you and trying to make you what you aren't."

I knew we had to separate Credence from the obscures, but he had lived with it inside him for so long it might kill him if we try.
