UPDATE 26 September 2017

My dear Lords, Ladies, Fairies and Unicorns,

Thank you very much for voting on my list of possible fairy tales to rewrite! If you haven't yet voted for your favorite ideas so yet, you can still do so further down in this chapter, and you can also leave a comment below the list if you'd like to express a suggestion that wasn't included on the the list! Your proposals so far have been absolutely wonderful, and very helpful in choosing the tales which I will choose for my next fairy tale anthology! :-)

If you'd like to proceed straight to the next few tales without voting, just go on to the next chapter.

Or, if case you'd like to discover the the SECRET SPECIAL EXTRA TALES which I included with the published version of this fairy tale collection, thus supporting my professional writing, you can just buy the printed or ebook version. Both have THREE ADDITIONAL STORIES as a "thank you" for your fabulous support:

1. The White Bride and the Black Pride (Fighting Racism in Fairyland in a retelling of the Grimm Brothers' "The White Bride and the Black Bride")

2. The Magician's Apprentice

3. Big Brother & Little Sister (The fairy tale "Little Brother & Little Sister" by the Brothers Grimm with a does of reality TV and Dystopia mixed in.)

Have fun reading! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the old author's note, including the list of fairy tales you voted on:

- Little Red Riding Hood, by the Brothers Grimm

- The Snow Queen, by Hans Christian Andersen

- Blue Beard, by Charles Perrault

- Sleeping Beauty, by the Brothers Grimm

 - The Adventures of Pinocchio, by Carlo Collodi

- The Day Boy and the Night Girl, by George MacDonald

- Beauty and the Beast, by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve

- Cinderella, by the Brothers Grimm

- The Light Princess, by George MacDonald

- Thumbelina, by Hans Christian Andersen

Or, you can leave an inline comment on this paragraph here, and tell me of a less-well known tale that isn't in the list. You can suggest pretty much anything. It doesn't have to be a European fairy tale, it can be a famous tale tale from your country or even an interesting local legend from your town. Only make sure that:

a) In case you'd like to suggest a story which, in your opinion, would make fabulous raw-material for a fairytale-retelling, please remember that I can only use tales that are no longer under copyright protection. I fear I can't use copyright-protected stories, since, if I do, I would be pursued by ruthless lawyers and thrown into a deep, dark dungeon from where I shall never emerge again! ;-) Copyright laws differ somewhat from country to country, but on the whole, one can say as a rough generalization that if the writer of a story has been deceased for at least seventy-five years, his or her works should, as far as I know, be able to be used by any writer without fear of reprisals.

b) and if the story you would like to suggest isn't famous around the world (like Snow White or Beauty & the Beast), please include a short blurb of the story into your comment, along with the title, the name of the original author (in case there is one, that is) and the year when it was first written.

I'll be looking forward to your fabulous proposals! Thank you so much in advance! I'm already really excited to find out what you come up with! :-)

Oh, and by the way - if you'd like to get hold of more fabulously crazy fairy tales straight away, you can! You'll simply have to purchase the published version of "WARNING! Fairy Tales", with THREE EXTRA TALES:

Thank so much for your awesome feedback! I sincerely hope you had fun with  the first book of my crazy little fairy tales! :-)

Yours Truly

Sir Rob
