Back to the way it was(hayes grier)

Chapter one:

(The girl is named jasmin)

It was finally summer and I was walking home from school with my best friend isabella.

"Why are u going all the way to Illinois for summer?" I ask her

"I'm going out to visit my dad. I'll text you when I get there" she responded

"Are u leaving right when you get home?"

"Yeah. My mom already packed my stuff for me"

I like 2 blocks away from her and she had to turn to her street.

"Bye have fun in Illinois! Text me" I said while walking away. She nodded and waved goodbye.

A few minutes later I heard foot steps behind me. I quickly turned around seeing Hayes Grier.

When I looked at him he looked away from me fast awkwardly.

I smiled for the thought he was looking at me.

Or he was just looking straight ahead but oh well.

There were a couple cars coming to the end of a street so I stopped.

Hayes was right beside me.

Hayes always lived by me.

In school and outside of it we talked a lot.

But I don't know what happened.

We just stopped talking.

We live right by each other but we don't talk

I know it's crazy!

There was an awkward silence when we were waiting for all the cars to pass by.

He broke it.

"Hey"

I glanced at him.

"Hi" I said

When the street was safe to walk across we walked side-by-side.

"So how come we live by each other but don't talk" he asked.

I thought exactly the same! At least we had some type of connection. It's been so long!

"Haha I don't know I thought the same." I said laughing.

He half smiled at me as I glanced at him.

"We don't really talk as much do we" he said

I shrugged.

"Yeah not really"

"I mean I always wanted to talk to you again I mean who wouldn't?" He smiled

What was he saying? That he wanted to come back to old times and talk again?

Maybe over the summer we could adjust to being friends again. I can't help that

my cheeks get red.

He looked at me and then smiled. We turned I out street. My house is the first house on the street so I head up my drive way.

"It was nice talking to you again. We got some catching up to do" he said

"Yeah. We should Hang out some time" I suggested.

" yeah! Well I better get going. Bye"

I waved and headed in my house.

Maybe talking to hayes again wasn't so bad after all (:
