SHORT BONUS CHAPTER

Newts P.O.V

While we were waiting I heard some call "Newt!" I stiffened, I knew that voice all to well, a voice that made me feel as if daggers were repeatedly going through my heart.

She ran up to us "Newt are you leaving so soon, you said we could get together and catch up, but you never wrote or visited."

I was frozen unsure of what to do or say

She turned to Tina "Hello," she said "I don't believe I've made your acquaintance do you work for Newt, I wouldn't be surprised if you did his book is doing so well!"

I was going to say something but Tina beat me to it.

"Uh no I don't work for him, and we met at the book signing." Tina said

"Oh were you that girl that was kind of hiding in the shadows?" Leta asked, she sounded bitter and cruel, and yet I still couldn't find my voice.

Finally I spoke "I'm terribly sorry Leta that we couldn't catch up like you wanted to, but I've been very busy the last few days."

She looked disgusted "what hanging out with her?" She said gesturing to Tina.

"Excuse me?" She said

"Uh actually yes and her name is Tina," I said.

I felt horrible Tina had nothing to do with this and she shouldn't be in the middle, I grabbed her hand without thinking.

"Newt, I've missed you." Leta said "please we used to be such good friends, even more then friends!"

"People change." I said softly, Tina looked at our hands, I didn't know what she was thinking and frankly I didn't want to know.

Then Leta followed Tina's eyes to our hands "my offers still on the table Newt, here's my address." She said handing me a paper "write to me." Then she walked away.

Tina looked angry, but as soon as she left her face softened, our train came almost immediately after.

We boarded the Train handing our tickets over, I wouldn't make eye contact with Tina I felt so horrible for what just happened.

I went to the back of the Train and sat down with her following and sitting next to me

She started to speak

"Newt I'm sorry."

Pain flooded through me, Tina it's not your fault I so desperately wanted to say, but instead I said

"No I'm sorry, she wasn't kind to you, and I stood there frozen, I didn't do anything because every time I see her I still feel like maybe she was the girl I knew in my first years at Hogwarts." 

I was looking at her she was beautiful, and she was giving everything to me, standing up for me and helping me.

"Newt, it's not your fault, don't think that. I know how hard it is to love someone and well maybe I don't, I just I."

She stopped talking, words that Queenie said to me years ago in my case replayed in my head. "She was a taker you need a giver."

"Sorry I'm not much help am I?" Tina said softly,

Suddenly I did something I didn't know I had enough courage to do, something perhaps I had thought about before.

I kissed her, she seemed tense but relaxed at the same time.

Almost immediately after we pulled apart, I looked out the window to hide my embarrassment.

And eventually fell asleep.
