Chapter 18

4.2K 58 2

It's Saturday, which means golfing with Blake. I would be lyin' if I said I wasn't nervous right now, but I have no reason to be. We're just two friends going to play golf. But I think I'm gonna take DJ's advice and just tell Blake how I feel.

When I got out of the shower, I just lied across my bed in my bra and underwear. After lying there for about five minutes, I got dressed in black jeans, a white v-neck, black Dr. Martens and a black leather jacket. I sat in the living room by myself waiting for him to get here. I had only been waiting for two minutes, but it felt like hours.

He's here. I got my keys and walked to the door.

"Hey, you ready?"

We got in the car and drove to the golf course.

"You look nice. And you're wearing a full shirt today," he said smiling.

"Thank you and I decided to wear a whole shirt just for you," I smiled back.

We got to the golf course, got our clubs and balls, then went to the practice course first.

"Wow Blake, you suck at this," I laughed.

"You're no better," he said back.

"What are you talkin' about, I'm way better!"

"Wait until we get on the actual course," he stopped and put his arm around me.

"Okay, we'll see," we walked toward the main course.

When we got to the actual course, there was a golf instructor standing there for the first timers. He was a fine lil white boy. He was tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

"Hi, I'm Travis. I'll be your instructor tonight."

"I'm Briana and this is Blake," I said holding back a smile.

Damn this guy was hella cute, but he's distracting me from what I need to do. We got to the first hole and I let Blake go first. He hit the ball lightly, but it rolled past the hole. He looked at me, but I was too busy trying not to laugh.

"I thought you were supposed to show me how it's done," I said mocking him.

"It's just the first hole," he said walking to the side.

"Okay Blake," I said.

I placed my ball down and swung. It rolled and stopped right in front of the hole. I looked at Blake and smiled a cocky smile.

"I think I might be better than you," I said.

"Like I said, it's just the first hole."

We got to hole ten and I found myself flirting with Travis a whole lot. I felt bad because I was here with Blake and I was supposed to be telling him how I feel.

"I'm gonna try to get a hole-in-one," I said putting my ball down.

"I know a trick that can help," Travis said.

He put his arms around me and his hands on mine. Right when we were about to swing at the ball, Blake stopped us.

"I think that's enough man," he said pulling me away from Travis.

"What are you doing?" I asked in an angry whisper.

"I'm sorry man, I didn't know you were together," Travis said.

"Well we are," Blake said with a fake smile.

He took both of our clubs and handed them to Travis.

"I think we're gonna go."

He grabbed my hand and walked back to his car, but mid walk I pulled away and walked ahead of him. We got in the car and I took my jacket off because I was heated.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I screamed in the car.

"Nothing," he said plainly. I knew something was wrong because he wouldn't even look at me.

"That's a damn lie! It doesn't make any sense for you to have acted like that," I yelled.

"I don't like the way he was all over you! I don't like how you were flirting with him in front of me!"

"Blake, I'm single! I can flirt with guys ya know. I don't say shit when you flirt with your lil hoes in front of me," I said angrily.

"Well I don't think you should, at least not in front of me."

"Oh my fucking god, are you serious? You know what, the only reason you have for acting like that is jealousy!"

His eyes got wide and he started fidgeting. Then I remembered what DJ said at the park.

"Wait Blake, are you jealous?" I finally asked.

"N-n-no," he stuttered.

I looked at him skeptically. He just flat out refused to look at me.

"Do you...like me?" I asked shyly. This was the first time I was ever shy around him.

"Wh-wh-what? N-no," he stuttered again.

I sat back in the seat, looked down and laughed silently.

"Okay Griffin," I finally said, "prove it."

"What do you mean?" he asked. He looked so confused.

I gently put my hand on his face and kissed him. I wanted to see if he would pull away, but he didn't. Instead, he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer. What started off as a simple kiss, turned into us making out in the car. I pulled away and noticed he was trying to hold back a smile. I smiled, looked out the window, back at Blake, then back down. I put my seatbelt on and glanced back at him.

"We can go now," I said with a gentle smile.

He looked at me for the first time since we got in the car. He put his seatbelt on, smiled and drove off.

We pulled up in the driveway to my house. I got out, said bye and walked in. I looked out the window to see he was still in the driveway. I smiled a little.

I walked into the living to see Monique on the couch watching tv.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked.

"I know your sisters left yesterday, so I'm staying over so you're not alone," she said.

"Well aren't you sweet."

"Did yall have fun?" she asked.

"Y-yup, we sure did," my voice cracked a little as I smiled.

"Why are you smiling?" she asked walking toward me.

"I kissed Blake..."
