Tina's P.O.V

I knew he didn't like me that way from the beginning, but I couldn't help hoping.

I knew about Leta the day after I met Newt, and Queenie told me he still had feelings for her. Bitter feelings, but yet still feelings if that even makes sense.

I was near tears oh Tina how did you end up this way, such a silly girl, so stupid so in love, I felt my eyes water and a few unwanted tears escaped my eyes.

I quickly wiped them away, I'm not weak.

I took a deep breath, my suitcase was lying in the middle of the floor, I opened it, it was no Newt Scamander case, but it was roughly the size of a wardrobe inside.

I pulled out some of my blouses, I kept digging around for no reason until I saw a sparkling dress, I scowled of course Queenie would pull something like this.

When I lifted the dress to examine it I saw a book underneath, I put the dress down and picked up the book.

"Fantastic beasts and where to find them." I said softly, I opened up the front cover and read while walking back to the bed to sit down.

I hadn't opened the book since Newt gave it to me.

Before I knew it I was reading it word for word every page, until I reached the last two pages

Newton Artemis Fido Scamander went to Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry, he now works for the ministry of magic and studied in Magic Zoology. Newt enjoys traveling around studying magical creatures and visiting friends, so far Newt says one of his favorite adventures was in New York where he set free his Thunderbird Frank. Newt hopes to teach young Wizards and Witches about Magical animals.

Newts favorite adventure was New York?

I smiled a bit, and walked to my bedroom door and opened it, Newts case was on the floor. I opened it and climbed down carrying the book under my arm.

"Newt?" I called, no answer

I opened the shed door and took a peek outside I saw Newt by the Bowtruckle tree talking probably to Pickett.

I closed the door and slowly started walking towards him.

He didn't notice me

"Pickett," I heard him say "What should I do? Leta has been a pain in my memory since the day I was expelled, but that doesn't change all the good times we had."

I felt a tiny bit of jealousy but brushed it away, I should say something or make a sound to alert him I was here, I thought. But I couldn't bring myself to do it.

He started talking again "yeah I know Pickett, it's just I don't think Tina even likes me as a friend anymore, we've both been kind of distant the past few days."

I held in a breath did he really think that? Part of me wanted to run up to him and say "no Newt of course I like you, I might even think I love you."

I cringed at my own thoughts, he thought of me only as a friend I reminded myself.

I took a step forward I stepped on a branch and it snapped revealing my presence.
