I woke up in my house with warm blankets toppled over me. Marcus was sitting next to me, along with my mom.
“Bryn!” They yelled together when they saw that I was awake.
“Oh my God,” My mom kissed my forehead, “How do you feel?”
I smiled at them, forgetting all the anger I had once held against them. I was so incredibly grateful to see them that it was like my whole heart had been filled—almost.
“I’m a little sore. But fine.”
There was a knock on my bedroom door and my mom exchanged a glance with Marcus. They both smiled at me.
“I lied when I told you they were monsters,” He said, “I just didn’t want you to get hurt.”
I nodded at him, understanding. “I know.”
I watched them as they left the room, and in their place came Blake, looking sexy as ever. He shut the door behind him, and stalked forward. He was chiseled and hard as he pressed against me on my bed. His body was warm. I reveled in it.
“We have unfinished business,” He whispered huskily, hovering over me.
“We do, do we?” I asked, in mock innocence.
“Yes, Bronwyn. We do.” He looked at me, smiling. “I’m going to kiss you now, whether you want me to or not.”
He crushed his lips to mine, hungry and devouring. His tongue flicked over my lips and he bit down, drawing a soft moan from my mouth. He ran his hand down over my jaw and neck, then slowly over my chest.
I pressed against him and slid my hands under the hem of his shirt. I traced patterns the patterns of his chest. He slid his hands down to the bottom of my own shirt, and pulled up ever so slightly. I froze.
He paused, “Bryn, what is it?”
I shook my head it him, “I—” I ran my fingers over his chest one more time, and then pulled him against me. “Never mind,” I smiled. “I’m tired of waiting for you.”
He grinned, “Are you sure this is what you want?”
“Just kiss me.”
He did. His mouth was like a fire, consuming and warm. He ran his hand up my now bare stomach. I didn’t want him to, but he broke the kiss.
“Bryn,” He rasped, “I love you.”
I smiled, “I love you too.”
And I pulled him into another kiss.
