I called my mom the next day while Levi was at practice. She was speechless for a few moments before saying anything. "You're...pregnant?" she whispered saying it as more of a question rather than a statement. "Elijah! " she yelled away from the phone, "Brielle's pregnant!"
"What the—" I heard my dad say before something crashed and he yelled 'dammit'. I smiled softly, bad timing?
"Mom, this is going to change everything."
"Obviously, sweetheart, but, not it a bad way. In a beautiful way. All you have to worry about really is a dress and if I can find my old dress you're going to be absolutely fine."
"Wait, what? Were you pregnant when you and daddy got married? You left that out."
She laughed. "Yeah, you could say that the military wasn't his first choice but I got pregnant young and we got married just before he went to basic. Wasn't my dream wedding I'll tell you that."
I laughed. "How far along?"
"Four months," she replied simply. "Do you know how far along you are?"
"Yeah, I took the clearblue pregnancy test and it said 4-6 weeks, I have an appointment with the doctor to get prenatal pills on friday. But, I didn't even know I was pregnant until two friends of mine put it in my head and I went after Levi's opening day game to get the test."
"Wow, oh my. Um, Your father is staring me down for the phone so I'll talk to you soon honey, love you. Don't worry about your dress I'll see what I can do."
"Alright, mama, and I love you too."
"Brielle?" my dad said softly.
"Yup," I whispered.
I laughed briefly. "Daddy, I am almost positive the how is not something you want to dwell on, and the when the pregnancy test I took said 4-6 weeks."
He sighed. "Dammit, I really was hoping to have grandchildren after y'all were married but, I will admit this was something I saw coming before the wedding. I prayed it wouldn't but now I can be prepared to spoil that youngin'."
I laughed. "Well the sooner the better, huh?"
He laughed. "Hell no! But, I'm happy for you two. Now All's left is that wedding though."
"Yup," I said looking down at my engagement ring. "All's left is the wedding."
When I finished talking to my parents I called Alyssa who practically wanted to jump through the phone and hug me she was so excited. She and I talked for hours on the phone before I was able to get off and call Shania.
"Hello?" Shania's soft voice said coming over the phone line.
"Shania, I've got something to tell you," I said softly.
There was a pause before she spoke. "What is it?" she said alarmed. "Is everything okay? Is Levi okay? Are you okay?"
I laughed. "Yeah, I'm great actually. I'm—uh—"
"Oh my god," she whispered.
"No way!" she exclaimed excitedly. "Awe, Brielle, that's great! A little early but absolutely great! How far along are you?"
She blew out air before speaking again. "Wow," she whispered. "I hadn't expected 'I am pregnant' to be the words to come out of your mouth the next time we spoke." She laughed. "I'm happy though. How's Levi with the news?"
