Not supposed to know

The next morning Hunter got up later than she usually did. It wasn't a surprise that she didn't sleep well, she kept tossing and turning all night, not being able to take her mind off of the events that had happened hours earlier.

She got out of bed and took a quick shower in Ryan's bathroom. It felt weird to her, showering in someone else's house other than her own.. Deep down she hoped she didn't have to get used to it.

She walked back towards the guest bedroom and saw that Ryan had laid down a sweater and sweatpants at the end of her bed. She smiled softly, she was so grateful to have a friend like Ryan.

After she was done she got out of the room and walked towards the living room, hoping to see him there.

"Ryan?" She called out.

She walked further into the room and noticed a body sprawled out on the floor. "Oh shit," she whispered when she noticed it was Bam. Hunter walked towards him and kneeled down on the floor beside him. She wanted to place her hand on his forehead, for no apparent reason whatsoever, but the feeling of a hand on her shoulder made her stop from doing so.

She turned her head and looked up at Ryan, "come," he whispered and helped her get up from her position. He guided her towards the kitchen and let her sit down on a stool while he sat down on the opposite site.

"So, how are you feeling?" he asked.

Hunter looked down and fiddled with the ring on her finger, "better, I guess.." She sighed, "I just can't stop thinking about him.."

Ryan nodded, "I don't think that'll change anytime soon. He was a huge part of your life," he said.

"He still is," she said, finally looking up into his eyes.

Ryan let out a sigh, "please tell me you're not planning on going back to that asshole," he said, almost afraid of hearing the answer. Hunter kept her mouth shut.

"Hunter, come on--,"

"It's not that simple Ryan. I can't just throw my whole life away!" Hunter raised her voice.

"I know, I know..,"

Unaware of everything that was going on, a little distance away from Ryan and Hunter, Bam finally woke up. He looked around the room, realizing he was at Ryan's house instead of his own. Memories from last night came flooding in, and he remembered barging into Ryan's house, seeing him and Hunter hugging. But one thing he didn't realize last night was that Hunter looked upset. It dawned on him just now. Last night he was just so fed up with his own problems, all he wanted to do was to drink his thoughts away with Ryan.

Bam didn't know Hunter very well, but he thought she was a beautiful, kind girl. She often came along with Ryan when the guys went out for drinks, and she seemed to get along with anyone really well. But Bam never really tried to make an effort to talk to her, his girlfriend would kill him if she ever caught him talking to other girls, let alone a girl as beautiful as Hunter.

"Oh, you're up," Ryan said as he and Hunter walked out of the kitchen.

Bam stood up from the floor and ran his fingers through his messy hair, "not the best sleep I ever had," he chuckled, "I'm sorry that I barged in like that last night," he said, looking at Hunter apologetically.

"It's okay," Hunter replied, giving Bam a smile as she hugged her arms close to her body.

He thought she looked adorable like that, in her oversized clothes without any makeup on. He kind of missed that in his own relationship, his girlfriend always looked like she was about to attend a fashion show. Or the circus.

Bam realized he was staring when Ryan let out an awkward cough. Bam quickly snapped out of his thoughts and looked away while Hunter shifted awkwardly on the spot.

"I think I'm gonna head back to my room for bit," Hunter said, glaring at Ryan who seemed to think this awkward moment was very amusing. "Okay," Ryan said with a smirk as he watched her walk off hastily.

'Way to go Bam,' he thought to himself as he let out a long sigh and sat down on the couch.

"What was that all about?" Ryan asked, the amusement still lingering in his voice.

"I don't know," Bam said, sitting up straight.

"Are you crushing on Hunter?" Ryan joked as his eyes widened a little.

Bam's head shot up, "of course not. I'm with Missy.. Remember," Bam said quickly. Of course he wasn't crushing on Hunter.. He barely knew her. But still, he couldn't deny that she was drop dead gorgeous.

"And if I remember correctly she's engaged right? To that Liam guy," Bam added.

"Right," Ryan mumbled, suddenly getting very quiet.

"What's wrong man?" Bam questioned, noticing his silence.

Ryan folded his arms over his chest and stared at the ground. Should he tell Bam about what happened?

"Nothing. It's just-- relationship problems," Ryan said but regretted it right after. He'd promised her not to tell anything.

"Oh," Bam replied. He really wanted to ask what kind of problems, but he decided not to.

"Speaking of relationship problems-- how are you and Missy doing?" Ryan said, wanting to change the subject to something other than Hunter.

Bam rolled his eyes, "great," he replied sarcastically. "She bought a new car last week, with my money of course.."

Ryan rolled his eyes, "dude, why don't you just break up with that bitch?" He said.

"It's not that simple Ryan," Bam groaned, "I love her," he said.

"Yeah, keep fucking telling yourself that Margera, but you ain't fooling no one."
