I eventually arrived at the diner half an hour late. Stupid teacher. Meh.
"Oh, Taylor! You're so lucky you aunt and uncle are running late." Rhonda said, handing me my waitress apron, notepad, and slipped a pen in my pocket. Rhonda was a small woman with thick brown hair and American. I think she said she's from California way. She was the most caring woman and always defended me from anyone, including my aunt and uncle.
"What? They're coming here?!" I asked, shocked.
My aunt and uncle never liked this place, as it wasn't as 'high- classed' as they want, so they try to avoid all visitations this place.
"Apparently we're gonna have a revamp." she said, helping my with my apron that I was failing to tie.
"What? Why?" I yelped.
"I don't know. Who knows what's in the minds of your aunt and uncle!" she said, pushing me into the kitchen. I went to the old-fashioned punch-in machine and saw that mine had already been done. Rhonda! Where i would be without her, I wouldn't have a clue.
I walked into the staff room and opened my locker and pulled out the tight White top and black khaki shorts. I changed as quickly and i could and pulled my Vans back on. I pulled a hair tie out of my pocket too, and pulled my hair into a high pony tail, which somehow deepened my eyes.
walked through the kitchen and out into the seatbg area.
It was a really sweet little sixties American diner style. We had a stretching counter around the room, booths by the window, a large jukebox in the corner of the room and plenty of music memorabilia from the sixties. The diner was virtually empty.
Sitting over in the furthest window booth was a large greasy man and two of his friends. I really didn't want to go over there. I looked over at Rhonda, and saw her looking at the guys, shaking her head. She looked at me, and nodded her head in that direction, but walked subtly that way too.
You see, we get a lot of... Creeps in this place.
I took a deep breath before walking over, taking my notepad and pen from my pocket.
"Hi gentlemen, welcome to the Wacky Diner. What can i get for you
today?" I asked, shifting my weight to lean on one leg and my pen poised.
"Well, miss, are you free for me to take?" he said to me. His stumpy beard was in a gross state and his breath smelt half of alcohol and half stale something i don't want to know.
"No, sorry. Are you ready to order or shall I come back later?" I asked, glancing back to Rhonda. She had moved closer to me, and was only a few yards to my right.
