Megan, Rob and the girls turned up a few hours later, bursting through the door in excitement.
"Auntie Mia, is it true? Are you staying here with Uncle Jay now?" Poppy asked excitedly as she and Milly clutched my legs.
They clapped their little hands excitedly when I said yes.
"Does that mean you're marrying Uncle Jay, like Auntie Amanda married Uncle Tim?" Milly asked.
"Where's my cuddle Millikins?" Jay asked as he swept her off her feet and put her over his shoulder. Jay winked and I gave him a grateful smile.
"And you, Poppikins..." he said as he scooped her over his other shoulder and headed towards the kitchen.
I couldn't hear what he said after that, but the girls squealed in delight.
"That was quite a save." Rob laughed as he stepped towards the kitchen. "But there's no one to save you from this one." He indicated Megan and ducked as she took a swipe at his arm.
"Oh my god, I'm so fucking excited!" Megan squealed just as the girls had done, before she wrapped me in a tight hug and I was helpless to do anything but return the gesture.
"I hope he doesn't fuck this up Mia, you are the best thing that's ever happened to him. I mean ever!"
My throat became thick with emotion at the sincerity of her words and as I clung to her, I managed to whisper "He's the best thing that's ever happened to me Megan. I feel like everything in my life, good and bad, has just been leading to this moment. I feel like I'm exactly where I need to be."
"But?" She asked as she stepped back to look in my eyes.
"I'm scared." I admitted quietly. "I want Jay so much, I need him just so I can breathe Megan. It scares me."
I felt his strong arms wrap around my waist, his warm breath against my ear.
"Babe," Megan gave me a smile and made her way towards the kitchen moments before Jays hand reached up to cup my breast. "I thought I was happy, for years I pretended that I was. But, knowing I'll have you in my bed every night, that's what I really needed. I was waiting for you to come into my life Mia."
I took a deep breath as his words enveloped me like a warm blanket.
"Let's be scared together, let's be happy together. I fucking need you as much as you need me Mia."
"I'm perfectly happy with this decision Jay." I reassured him as his thumb grazed my nipple, calming me as it always did.
"I know Mia." he whispered. "And I'm fucking ecstatic about it, but I'm also realistic enough to know that it's a huge step. For both of us."
I turned to face him and wrapped my arms around his neck as I pulled his face towards mine.
"I love you Jayden Williams. I love you so much." I whispered as I brushed my lips against his. "I don't remember ever feeling this happy and the thought of losing it scares shit out of me. But, I trust you Jay, with every fibre of my being, I trust you."
I kissed him, I kissed him with all of the emotions I was feeling and he kissed me back in the same way.
As his hand held the back of my neck, holding my mouth against his, he said the words I needed to hear.
"And I love you Mia Campbell, every tiny inch of you. You make me so fucking happy...and so fucking horny." He added and I laughed.
"When I get you upstairs tonight, I'll show you just how fucking much." He promised in a voice that had my panties wet.
As I was about to suggest he take me now, there was another knock at the door.
Jay's friends came piling through, each welcoming me to the state on their way through.
"Hi sweetheart, how's my favourite girl doing?" Cam's familiar voice had me grinning from ear to ear and I flung my arms around him.
"Sorry." I said shyly once I realised what I'd done, but Cam just laughed.
"Don't apologise for a greeting like that sweetheart." He grinned as he kissed my cheek. "It's really good to see you Mia, I'm glad you chose to be here."
"Me too." I answered honestly.
Then his cheeky smile returned and he pulled me closer. "When you get tired of him, I'll be waiting." He said just loud enough for Jay to hear.
We both laughed as we heard Jays low growl behind us.
"That's an awesome offer, but I'm sorry Cam" I began and he dropped his eyes in mock hurt. "I have the only man I will ever need in my life."
"Ouch." He held his chest as he looked at me.
"Fuck! That's enough you two." Jay growled as he pulled me against him possessively and I smiled. I was right where I wanted to be.
Cam and Megan did their usual comedy duo thing, bouncing off each other until they had everyone in stitches.
Everyone but Sam, who I noticed had her gaze firmly fixed on Jay. I hated confrontation, even though the events of the past few months might show differently. But there was no way in hell I was going to let her get to me like she did last time.
"Sam, how are you?" I asked as I sipped my drink.
She hid her scowl as she looked my way. "Oh Mia, I didn't realise you were here." She smirked. "I'm good, thanks for asking."
She fixed her gaze back on Jay and my blood boiled.
I took a deep breath and plastered an equally fake smile on my face.
"I can't blame you for looking Sam..." and she quickly cut me off.
"I've had a taste Mia, more than one actually." She said smugly and I had to swallow the bile that rose in my throat as she continued.
"Recently, in fact." She licked her lips and it took all of my willpower not to throw up.
I was so focussed on her, I didn't realise that everyone else had fallen silent as they watched us.
"And when exactly was that Sam?" I asked, my voice so calm that it betrayed my true feelings.
She swallowed audibly, before responding. "Monday of last week. And Tuesday."
Her face held a smug look until I laughed and then it faltered.
"I see." I lowered my eyes and she took this as a sign of acceptance, her smile evident from the corner of my eye.
"Get out of my house." I said quietly as I looked back up at her.
"What? Your house?" She asked incredulously.
"Yes Sam, my house. Get out, you're not welcome here."
She turned her eyes towards Jay, his eyes so dark with anger that she quickly looked away.
"Get out Sam." I repeated. "Don't come back, you're not welcome here."
I smiled as Jay wrapped his arm around me in silent support.
