"What are you doing out here that late you idiot?" These words of the voice he just knew too well ripped Banryu out of his thoughts. He quickly put away his sword. "The same I could ask you", he just replied without turning to look at Sooho. "I was wor- whatever, just come back inside now and stop cutting trees", Sooho answered, looking at the cuts in confusion before turning around and going back. Banryu had to think for a moment. Did he just want to say he was worried about him? He shook his head and just followed him then. Sooho hated him, he probably just wanted him to disappear or even die.
At some point he saw Sooho stop and turning around to look at him. He laid a hand on his shoulder then. "What's up with you?", he asked then, slightly tilting his head. Banryu wasn't even able to speak for a second. He felt this tingling feeling again where Sooho was touching him and it was distracting him from everything else. He pulled himself together then. "I'm totally fine, now go out of my way", he said and pushed Sooho away before going inside. As soon as he was far away enough and sure Sooho wouldn't follow him here he already felt tears in his eyes again. He hated so much being mean to him, he'd wanted so much to tell him the truth out there, he just wanted to feel his soft hand on his cheek, not just on his shoulder and he just wanted Sooho to be closer to him, to hold him in his arms. It was clear that something like this was never going to happen. It was forbidden and Sooho was a person to stick to the rules, just like Banryu was. He hated how he had changed, he couldn't just show up to training tomorrow like nothing happened. A feeling inside of him told him to hide, just like the moon did that night. But how? Should he just run away? No, that would make him a scared bastard. He wasn't like this. Anyways, there was no way he could continue being in Hwarang. If he'd just leave, he'd be sentenced to death, that's what he knew, too. Was running away really the only option to avoid death? For him, it seemed like it right now. A misfit like him deserved to be far away from the capital. "Banryu", he heard Sooho's voice calling his name then. He turned around to him, totally forgetting the tears on his cheeks. Before he could ask what he wanted, Sooho asked: "Did you cry?" "I-I didn't", here replied, quickly wiping away his tears. "You'll just stay here now and tell me what happened with you", Sooho said, making it sound like an order. Banryu shook his head: "I can't. It's a secret and it's very important that it stays one." Sooho gave up then. "Okay then, sorry for going on your nerves", he said before leaving him alone. Banryu watched him leave in disbelief. Did he just apologise for something? Whatever, this would be the last time he'd have talked to him, that's what Banryu thought. He'd leave this place in the morning and never return, that's what he thought, too. What he didn't know then was how different from that everything would be.
