When you think of a child of Ares, you would think of someone strong, fearless, sassy, stubborn, someone who is built like a warrior. When you look at me, you don't exactly see that. Yes, I am a daughter of Ares, but I'm not exactly like the others. I'm not as strong, as fearless, as sassy, as stubborn as my siblings. I'm not even really built as a warrior. Instead of training every single day, you would mostly find me reading, however, I do train every now and then. You see, I'm someone who craves knowledge more than anything. Yes, I do have some qualities that make me an Ares child, but some people have mistaken me for a daughter of Athena because of how I am. See, unlike my siblings who are similar to one another, I seem to be the odd one out. Basically, I'm a nerdish type of Ares girl. My eyes are hidden behind a pair of thick glasses and I tend to shy away from others, especially guys.

I've only been at camp for a few days now, but I don't really know anyone here as my shy nature has kept me from meeting a lot of people. Of course, I know Chiron and Mr D, considering they were the ones to tell me all about camp. Well, Chiron anyone, Mr D didn't really seem to care. There's also Clarisse who showed me which cabin I'll be staying in and told me about some of the people here. Other than that, I barely know anyone. I remember how she told me about one particular person here at camp.

Flashback

"So newbie, there's one person here at camp that you may want to be careful of should you ever encounter him." Clarisse said after showing me around the cabin.

"Oh? Is he trouble?" I asked as I pushed my glasses up.

"Sort of. He's sorta known as the camps 'bad boy.' According to a lot of girls here, especially the Aphrodite girls, he's drop dead gorgeous and could apparently make any girl for him. What I hear is that he dates girls for a short time, you know make them feel as if they are the only one for him and treats them like a princess, before dumping them and moving on to the next. Honestly, girls know this and they still want to date him in hopes of changing his ways."

"Sounds like the sort of person I should avoid."

"I wouldn't worry about it too much to be honest."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Don't get me wrong, you're beautiful. But, he doesn't go for nerd-type girls. But hey, I could also be wrong. All I'm saying is that you should be careful to not fall for his charm. It would save you a lot of heartache in the end."

"Don't worry, I have no intention of even associating with him. Besides, it sounds like he would have a whole group of girls pining for his attention and, if I ever get his attention, I feel as if the girls here would murder me for it. What's his name?"

"Jason Grace."

End of flashback

"Hey (Name), you coming?" Someone said behind me, bringing me back to reality.

"Oh, I'm right behind you." I grabbed my sword on the way out as I decided to do some training.

"Come on (Name), I know you can do better than that." Clarisse said as I failed to parry yet another attack. "If this was a real fight, you'd be dead."

"I'm not really a fighter, you know that."

"Then it's time to get your head out of the books and start being one. You are a daughter of Ares, God of War. We are warriors, we are fighters. I know you have it in you to be one. So come on, fight me." Her words sparked something with me as I gripped my sword tighter and got into a fighting stance. "There it is, I can see the fire in your eyes. What are you waiting for?" She taunted me. But I knew it she was just trying to wind me up, but I knew better. I took a deep breath as I ignored her words and watched her every movement, calculating when and were she was going to attack. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw her shoulder twitch and, just before she could land another attack, I brought my sword up and blocked her attack.

"You want a fighter? I'll show you a fighter." I said with determination coursing through my body.

"That's what I'm looking for." A smirk appeared on her face as she jumped back and held her sword up.

"Then let's dance oh sister of mine."

"Bring it on." Was the last thing she said before our swords clashed against one another once again.

Jason's POV

"Yo Jason." I looked over and saw that Percy once the one who called out.

"Hey Perce, what's up?" I said.

"You hear about that new camper who arrived a few days ago?"

"Can't say I have. Who are they?"

"From what I hear, the new camper is a girl and she's a daughter of Ares."

"A girl huh? Seems like I should go and introduce myself."

"Don't tell me you're going to charm her into falling for you? What is your latest girlfriend going to think?"

"Who cares what she thinks. She's just another conquest of mine. Once I'm done playing, she'll just be another ex."

"I'm surprised so many girls still fall for you." He said with a slight chuckle.

"What can I say? Girls find me irresistible."

"Whatever you say man. You know, one of these days you're going to find a girl that you're going to fall head over heels for but, she'll just become someone you can't have because she'll think she's just another one of your playthings."

"Trust me, no one can resist this." I said as I pointed at my body.

"You'll meet your match one day. Trust me, there will come a time you'll go after this one girl, but she won't give you the time of day in fear that you'll be playing with her heart."

"We'll see about that. Anyway, I want to know more about this camper, where can I find her?"

"She's training with her sister at the training arena."

"Then that's where I need to be. I'll catch you later man, I have some looking to do." Without another word, I made my way to the training arena.

It wasn't long before I found myself at my destination. I could hear the sounds of swords clashing and silently made my way to where it was coming from. Upon arriving, I saw Clarisse fighting a girl with h/c hair and had e/c eyes hiding behind a pair of thick glasses. 'That must be the new camper. I gotta find out who she is.' I thought as I leant up against the wall, waiting for their training to be over.

I didn't have to wait long until I spotted the girls finishing up. I waited for Clarisse to leave before approaching the new girl. While she was distracting, I leant down so that my head was right against her ear.

"Hey there beautiful." I whispered. She jumped back in fright and I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Um hi." She said rather shyly.

"Mind telling me your name gorgeous." Her cheeks went red as I spoke.

"I-It's (Name) (L-Last Name)." I couldn't help but chuckle slightly at how flustered she got.

"The name's Jason Grace." I said as I picked up her hand and placed a gentle kiss upon it, watching as her cheeks became even redder. "But you probably already knew that."
