I've grown accustomed to her face
She almost makes the day begin
I've grown accustomed to the tune
That she whistles night and noon
Waking up again, but this time to the alarm on Margot's bedside table James groggily sat up and began to rub his tired eyes. Noticing that the bed felt lighter, the boy turned over to find an empty bed.
Running a hand through his unruly curls, James began to make his way downstairs following the faint sound of a tune being whistled. Entering the kitchen, he found Margot whistling along to the faint sound of the radio while cooking.
Knocking on the wooden doorframe, James leant against the wall before walking over to the blonde girl.
"Good morning" he smiled, his voice still groggy from sleep.
The blonde girl looked over her shoulder at James and greeted him.
"How are you feeling?" James spoke gently, remembering her heartbroken face from the night before.
Her smiles, her frowns
Her ups, her downs
Are second nature to me now
"Better, thank you"
Like breathing out, breathing in
I was serenely independent and content before we met
Surely I could always be that way again and yet
"Sit! I made you some breakfast, we gotta leave for school in an hour so eat up" moving over to James, the blonde placed a stack of chocolate chip pancakes on the table.
Looking at the girl in awe, he picked up his fork and took a bite. "These are delicious! How did you know they were my favourite?"
I've grown accustomed to her looks
Accustomed to her voice
Accustomed to her face
"A little birdie told me"
"Sirius?"
"Yeah"
Feeling a warmth in her heart as she admired the beautiful boy, she giggled as she watched James devour his pancakes before sitting down to eat her own.
