A/N: Gif of Dianna Agron, who plays Carter, to the side :) Enjoy the chapter!
The two days after Harry and I had our talk were oddly nice. Eerily nice, to be frank. My mother wasn't nearly as passive aggressive to me nor Liam, Harry didn't show up and cause any trouble, there was no word from Johnathan, Liam and Shawn were getting along great, everything was just...great.
Which could mean only one thing: Something bad was about to happen. Because nothing good lasts long for me.
"We should go back home." I said in a montone voice to Liam while we watched a stupid movie on my couch. It was Wednesday, still in the morning, and my brother was at school and my mum was at work.
Liam turned to me with eyebrows raised, muting the TV. "Come again?"
"I think it's time to leave." I turned to him. "Go back to Kingsville. I came back home, made things right with everyone, and now I guess it's time to go. I have to get back to work, you have to figure out your next move, and I should probably get started on all my Uni work I've been avoiding."
Liam chuckled. "Well alright, if that's what you want to do. But are you sure?"
"No." I said honestly. "A part of me wants to stay and help my mum and Shawn, but the other part of me has to get out of here. Everywhere I look I see the old me, and I didn't like her very much."
Liam wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to him. I tensed up at first - force of habit - but then relaxed, laying my head on his chest.
"Whatever you want to do, I'm on board." He murmured, kissing the top of my forehead.
"What if I want to go skydiving?" I asked humorously.
"I'll call the pilot."
"Swim with sharks?"
"I'm up for it."
"As if I would object to you running naked down the street."
"Pack up our things and go back to Kingsville?"
Liam paused, and I lifted my head to look up at his face. He was already smiling down at me.
"Let's go." He said softly.
Because I am trying out this whole 'turning a new leaf' business where I am nicer, and less selfish, and more open to relationships with people, I decided to not leave without a word this time around. Liam and I packed up our things while my mum and Shawn were gone, then waited for them to get back. Shawn got home first, and I could tell the second he walked in the door that he knew I was leaving.
"Leaving me again?" He asked as he wheeled to the kitchen, backpack still hanging over the back of his chair.
"No." I called out, following him. "I'm just going back to Kingsville, I'm not leaving you. I already did that once, I won't do it again."
"So you're actually going to stay in touch?" He asked sarcastically, managing to open the fridge but struggling to reach a can of soda on the top shelf. "As if I believe that." He strained.
"Here, let me help you." I sighed, walked over to help him.
"No!" He shouted, startling me. "I don't need your help, I don't need anyone's help! Just go! Go back to your new home with your stupid boyfriend where you have a stupid job and you don't have to worry about taking care of your brother in the wheelchair!"
