-Kosei Pov-

"Are you ready to lose today?" Emi asked as I entered the waiting room. "Nope. Are you?" I asked, holding out to shake her hand. She smirked. "I never lose. So no." We shook hands and she walked past me. The competition had just started, the first player walking out on stage. I sighed, my chest feeling tight. This always happened. It took me awhile to learn how to work through it. Especially after Kaori. And usually Tsubaki was here to help me. But she was playing baseball right now, probably winning. I smiled, just thinking about her. The fire behind her eyes every time she went up to the plate to bat. I heard the distant echo of the ball hitting the bat and a cheering crowd. Yea, Tsubaki was hitting a home run right now. Pulling her team to another victory.....and it was time for me to pull a victory as well. I gripped my music to my chest...it was time to hit my home run.

-Tamaki Pov-

"Wow, everyone here is so good." Haruhi whispered as player number three left the stage. His performance had been a slow and heart filled one. Beautiful, and so was everyone who had played. "It's natural for everyone to be so good, this is an all state competition. The best of the best from all around come to get to the next competition." Kyoya said as I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around in my seat to face a little girl She smiled and waved to me. I grinned. "I'm sorry," Her mother whispered pulling her daughter back into her lap. "It's alright, she is adorable....what is your name?" I asked the girl. She smiled brightly. "Koharu!" She said. "Well mine is Tamaki, it's nice to meet you." I said. "Tamaki....like Tamaki from Ouran?" Her mother asked. "Y-Yes. Do you know of my fathers business?" I asked her. It wasn't unusual for people to recognize my name, I just didn't expect it here. "Oh no! My name is Hiroko. I was Kosei's old piano teacher. And I'm also technically one of his guardians." She said. "Really? He talks about you sometimes." Haruhi said turning to face her as well. Hearing the conversation. "He talks about you guys all the time....I'm glad he is making friends at this new school of his." Hiroko said with a grin. "We all love Kos-chan! He is so good at playing the piano." Honey said joining the conversation as well. "Yea, he is. Speaking of that I better go and check on him." She said standing up and picking her daughter up. "But, only performers are allowed back there." Honey said, looking confused. I smiled. "She is one. she used to be a very well known player before retiring." I said. "you must really know your stuff about piano playing." the woman said looking impressed. "But if you will excuse me, I'm going to go calm Kosei down a bit before he goes on." She said before leaving us. "Guys, the next player is up." the twins called. We all faced the stage again. I couldn't help but let my thoughts wonder as the next person started to play. That woman was from Kosei's past. Something that the boy never really talked about much. I couldn't help but wonder what I could learn.

-Hiroko Pov-

"There you are!" I shouted, sneaking up behind Kosei and making him jump with the sudden loud noise. "H-hiroko!" He said facing me. "Is that any way to react to seeing me in person after I traveled all the way down here to watch you perform?" I asked him. "Y-your the one who scared me!" He said folding his arms defensively. "Oh give it a rest and give us a hug." I said pushing my child out to give him a hug. I also gave him one and he let out a shaky sigh. "Nervous?" I asked. "Duh, you know how it is." He said standing up straight and fixing his suit. "Have you been learning a lot at your new fancy school?" I asked him. "I have actually, but I miss you guys sometimes....I wish Tsubaki and Ryota could have been here." He said looking down. "Hey. Ryota sends his best. And your girlfriend is probably winning her baseball game as we speak. They are thinking about you just as much as you are them." I told the boy. He smiled. "Yea." He said. "Player number eight, your up next." Kosei looked up and watched as Emi walked to the door. "Good luck." He called. "I don't need luck." She said, her smile and blush betraying her harsh words as she left. "Let's watch." I said turning to the TV that a few of the kids were gathered at, watching the performers on stage.
