Giving up

"Hey! Piper can you come down please!" I heard Mark yell from the kitchen.

"I'm coming."

I went downstairs and saw Mark and Jack sitting at the kitchen table.

Is this some kind of intervention?

I sat down without a word.

What if they're taking me back to the orphanage?

"Uh, so, Piper I've been thinking about... Well..." Mark said, not really knowing where to start.

"We've been thinking about putting you in therapy." Jack said and gave me a sad look.

"Y-you're kidding, right?" God damn stuttering! I need to stop that.

"No, we're not kidding Piper. I'm sorry." Mark said sternly.

"Well you can't make me go!" I yell standing up from the table and hitting my hands on it.

"Piper, you're going, if you like it or not." Jack said standing up as well.

"You really think you can make me go?! Hell no you can't!" I said and ran upstairs to my room.

I grabbed the only thing I knew I needed.

If I do it, then Mark and Jack won't have to worry about me.

Mark won't have to pay for my meds or therapy.

I grabbed it from the counter and swallowed it. Who needs water? These are going to be my last few breaths anyway.

I grabbed the razor and made a few cuts.

I filled the bathtub with water, and sat at the edge.

This is it. No one will have to worry about me anymore. I'll never get bullied like I used to, I'll never have to worry about my kids getting depressed.

I won't have to worry about anything.

This is it.

I give up.

"Piper?" I heard Mark say.

I smiled and sat in the bathtub.

I took my last breath. And laid back and let the water surround me.

Thank god.

It's finally over.
