She detested her father because he had raped her when she was seven. She was too young then to know what he was doing to her, but the only thing she knew was that it was painful. This continued to happen until she was nine. By the age of eleven, Sierra learned what was occurring and she told her mother. Her mother became furious and immediately evicted her father, receiving a few strikes in the womb and face.
Sierra's mother began to bleed and doubled over in pain onto the floor. She had been pregnant with Sierra's brother and now her body was aborting the child. Her mother knew her body was not going to withstand the pain.
"Sierra please take care of yourself. Forgive me for not being strong enough. I was an unsuccessful mother. Just know I died trying to protect you."
"Don't say that. You gave me unconditional love and support throughout all these years. I love you. You are going to live to see tomorrow and many others.", said Sierra.
Her mother gave a small smile and as she closed her eyes she began to say "I love you,"
but she never finished. The last word she got to say to Sierra was "love".
Her mother had just died in her arms. Sierra had grasped her mother's motionless body that day and cried for hours. She became a very independent person from that point on. She received a call a moon later saying Ethan was dead. She didn't cry or feel any pain for his death because he had killed her mother. Ethan did not deserve the title of "father."
