"S-Shauntal, that's not fair! Y-You said we were going to watch Genesect and the Legend Awakened, n-not some horror movie!" You exclaimed while wearing a panicky expression, your statement directed at the purple-haired female who happened to be one of your closest friends.

She had called you, Caitlin, Grimsley and Marshal to come over to her house, so the five of you could watch the movie you mentioned just moments ago, but it seemed like that was only a trap to lure you here. Out of your group of friends, you were the most shy which led to some of the others - mostly Shauntal - to tease you very often. And if waving the DVD case of the movie "The Girl from Marvelous Bridge" wasn't teasing you, you didn't know what was.

"Yeah, that was a pretty dirty move, four-eyes. You know that [Name] doesn't like watching horror movies." Grimsley, the Elite Four member who specialized in dark-type Pokémon, was the first to take your side and make sure Shauntal knew she hadn't been fair. A small smile and red cheeks had unconsciously found their way to your face when you turned your head only slightly to the side, enough so that you could catch a glimpse of Grimsley.

Grimsley happened to be the son of a distinguished family which fell into ruin some time ago, but back when it was one of the most influential households, you were his neighbor. All of that meant that the two of you had known each other since forever, and your occupations allowed the two of you to see even more of one another now as well.

Two years ago, you had managed to beat all the Elite Four members who back then you already considered to be your closest friends and even win the Pokémon battle against the Unova region's Champion Alder, becoming the new champ as a consequence. Ever since then, the five of you had made it a custom to hang out even outside of work which was one of the reasons you were all gathered here right now.

You appreciated Grimsley speaking up for you, especially since he himself actually didn't mind horror movies and even liked some to a certain extent. In such and similar aspects, the two of you couldn't be more different: You couldn't help but fear scary things and the dark while Grimsley was quite the daredevil, and yet you had managed to fall for such a man. Then again, there was that certain saying 'Opposites attract'.

"Come on, you two are always such party poopers! Am I right, Marshal?" The short-haired female whined, tilting her head towards the dark-skinned young man, seeking backup which she didn't exactly get. The saffron-haired male crossed his muscular arms in front of his chest and raised a brow at Shauntal. "I'm not exactly a fan of others picking on [Name], so I won't be taking anyone's side."

The girl with the round glasses groaned and attempted to get Caitlin fired up for the movie who only yawned in response. You felt as if the entire meet-up was becoming a mess just because you weren't fond of scary films, so you decided to pull yourself together and act accordingly. "Y-You know, I don't mind if we watch it. T-The movie, I mean."

"You're such a trooper, [Name]! I promise we'll watch Genesect and the Legend Awakened the next time!" Shauntal's face instantly lit up as she threw herself at you, hugging you so tightly that her force was comparable to Marshal's for a second. You smiled sheepishly and returned the gesture, only to gain a worried glance from Grimsley. "Are you sure you're okay with this?"

"Y-Yeah." You nodded shyly, the purple-head finally letting go of you and heading to the television where she prepared everything that concerned electronics. Marshal was nice enough to go fill up two bowls with chips and popcorn, while the rest of you got comfortable on the couch. Caitlin stole the place on the far right, where she said she could get into the most comfortable sleeping position while Grimsley took a seat on the far left, you sitting right next to him.
