Chapter 4

I woke up to another sunny day. I climbed out of bed a started to go out of the door, when I remembered my arms. I pulled on a random hoodie, and walked downstairs. My mum was already in the kitchen making breakfast.

“Hey mum.” I said.

“Hi darling, are you ok?” she replied, rushing over to me and hugging me.

“Yeah…” I sighed. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

She looked me in the eyes and said “You did it again, didn’t you?”

I let out a deep breathe, and hung my head.

“Oh baby,” my mum said, starting to cry. “Your father is a horrible man. I should never have let you speak to him.”

“Mum, don’t. It’s not your fault.” I replied.

“I love you so much Tallulah, you know that, don’t you?”

“Of course I know that mum. I love you too.”

After breakfast, I went back up to my room to get dressed. As I entered my room, my phone was ringing. It was Beau. I rushed over to my phone, but the call had already ended. I had 3 missed calls and 7 messages, all from Beau. I said I would text him last night, but I forgot.  I called him back.

*ring, ring, ring*

“Hello?” Beau answered.

“Hi Beau, its Tallulah.” I said.

“Finally! Why didn’t you answer my calls or my messages? Have I upset you?” Beau asked.

“No, you haven’t upset me. I just… Can I tell you later?” I sighed.

“Yeah… Yeah of course.” Beau replied.

“My mums working today, and I want to get out of the house, do you want to go out somewhere?” I said sweetly.

“Sure, I can show you around the shopping centre,” Beau chuckled. “I’ll pick you up in an hour?”

“Ok, see you then.” I giggled.

“BYE HONEY, I’M GOING TO WORK NOW!” my mum yelled up the stairs.

“OK, HAVE FUN BABE!” she called out as she walked out the door.

A few seconds later I heard the front door close. I started singing and dancing to myself, whilst putting on a light weight cardigan to cover my arm.

“Nice moves babe!” I heard someone laugh from behind me. Beau.

“Shit! You scared me! How did you even get in?” I asked, laughing.

“Your mum was leaving just when I got here, so she let me in.” Beau winked and pulled me into a hug. “Mmm, you smell good!” he smiled.

“Thanks,” I giggled, “Let’s go!” Beau grabbed my hand and we ran down the stairs and out of my front door.

We walked to the shopping centre and started looking inside some shops. After a few hours of shopping, we found a café to have lunch in.

“So, why didn’t you answer my messages last night?” Beau questioned, with a mouthful of cake.

I sighed. “Well, when I got home, my mum was on the phone to my dad… she didn’t know I was back, and I was listening to her conversation through the door. They were arguing about me.”

“Does your dad live in England still?” Beau asked.

“Yeah… We moved because of him.” I said, with tears in my eyes.
