Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
― Neil Gaiman | paraphrasing GK Chesterton
Of course there must be lots of Magic in the world, but people don't know what it is like or how to make it.
― Frances Hodgson Burnett | The Secret Garden
Hello there. Thank you for taking the time to peruse this book. I hope it will not disappoint!
I came up with "The Myriad Chronicles" some time ago while reading an article which suggested there are countless parallel worlds populated by what we call 'Fictional Characters'.
The concept was something like this: if enough people focus their energy, time, thoughts and emotions on a fictional world and its inhabitants, they become, somehow, real.
Really, properly real.
That means somewhere out there, pressed between the pages of our multi-prismed universe, there exists every story ever told, cherished and dreamed. I call it The Myriad.
The idea stuck with me, and I built my book around it-- a world spun from fantasy, held captive by its creator-- where imagination is as dangerous as a blade.
We are all Readers, in our own way. We create the world we live in, shape it with our hearts, minds, words and actions.
So turn the page... what new world will you create today?
Make it a brilliant one.
