The shock on Vic's face makes me falter for a second, but I move forward to hug him, releasing Chase's hand in the process. I move back, my hand slipping back into Chase's. Noticeably Vic's eyes move down to our connected hands, a look of confusion as he looks at the both of questioningly. "This is definitely a surprise. I thought you were bringing a friend?"
"Yes" I say slowly, "but I wanted to introduce you to my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Vic chokes out. "What?" his eyes move between the two of us. "Chase is your boyfriend? When the fuck did this happen?" His voice is loud, but not necessarily angry.
"It's very new." I tell him.
"Uh, I'd say because nothing was said last weekend when we were all together." He points out. "I can't imagine Vance is taking this well."
"We haven't told Vance."
"What?!" he barks.
"Maybe we can take this inside?" Chase speaks up.
Vic seems to notice that we're still standing out in the hall, and moves to let us in. I stroll through the door and move through the condo without waiting for my brother, taking in it's modern and sleek appearance. The kitchen is immediately on the right full of silver appliances, pass the kitchen is a small dining room with a small table that fits four, and beyond that is the wide open living room. My eyes take in the ceiling to floor windowed wall.
"Vic, this is amazing." I tell him moving towards the windows, looking down at the bustling city below.
"Yeah, It's great but back to you and Chase." Vic's voice is stern causing me to turn around, his posture says anything but relaxed with his arms crossed over his chest. Beyond Vic, Chase stand awkwardly, still holding our bags.
I notice Melissa isn't around, "Where's Melissa?"
"She'll be home soon, stop evading the question."
"Vic," Chase speaks up, he releases our bags at his feet, and looks at my brother, "We're sorry to spring this on you. It wasn't our intention.."
"What are your intentions?" Vic cuts Chase from finishing his sentence, Vic's facial express is one of concern and I'm starting to really doubt our decision. I thought he would be the most understanding out of all my brothers.
