Chapter 24

             The past 3 weeks were hectic and exhausting for me. I met up with Augustus' friend 2 weeks ago and she agreed that I could join her fashion show. However, I can only walk on the runway once because I am still a rookie. She also gave me information such as which supermodels are going to be there on the runway and which important influential entrepreneurs are going to be there that night. I was not only busy with the practices and fittings for the upcoming New York Fashion Show, I was also busy with the new product launching in Colton's company. It was a new perfume launched by Global. His Obsession – that was the name of the perfume. It is rumoured that Colton took care of every small little detail on this project and he was the one who came up with the name of the perfume. This rumour has left me totally flabbergasted. Why would he choose me to be the ambassador when he could have hired someone more professional and well-known? However, he was absent at every meeting I went to. A part of me wanted to see him so badly but another part of me was glad that we did not bump into each other. The photoshoot ended successfully and I was glad that it's finally over. At least, that was what I thought.

" This is ridiculous! I understand I need to attend press conferences during the product launch but why do I have to accompany Mr Zac to Milan? My job is done here, for your information. " I exclaimed. I was disgruntled because things did not go as expected.

" I'm sorry, Anna. But Mr Zac insisted that you go to Milan with him because His Obsession will be launched in Milan and he needs you there for the event. " Christine, the person in charge of the whole campaign, explained. I could see guilt in her eyes because she was the one who told me my job will be done once the press conferences are over. I sighed in disappointment because I know there is nothing she and I can do to change Colton's mind. If he wants me there, he will make it happen at all cost. I'm not going to beg him or talk it out with him anymore. I'm physically and mentally tired already.

" When is it? " I said, emotionless.

              Christine gave me the details about the trip and told me to go home and get some rest. I was wrong, to think that things will work out well for me. I thought I was off the hook. But I was totally wrong. I was frustrated.

" Milan?! Seriously, what is wrong with him! He has a fiancée, for God's sake! " Quinn ranted as her eyes were fixed on the road. " Anna, you really need to tell him what happened in the past. He needs to know now! " she suggested, desperately.

" He won't believe me, Quinn. Not after everything that has happened. " I looked out the window and sighed.

" What do you mean? "

" He thinks I slept with Augustus for money. Apparently, somebody took photos of us entering a hotel. " I said, nonchalantly.

" What? " Quinn stared at me suspiciously and smirked.

" Quinn, this isn't funny. " I rolled my eyes.

" Well, I have always rooted for you and Augustus. " She admitted.

" You know we're just friends. We agreed on that. It did not work out, remember? " I protested.

" That's because Augustus knows you're still in love with Colton, " she grumbled. " Anyway, if Colton is smart enough, he could always check to see whether the photos are real. "

" He's too blinded by hatred. He only believes what he wants to believe. " I muttered lowly. I could only hear Quinn sighed beside me as she drove in silence.

           I went to bed earlier that night because Christine told me we're leaving tomorrow midnight to Milan. I woke up at 9am and started packing my things for the trip. Realising I haven't told Helen I'm flying to Milan today, I decided to give her a call and inform her.
