The drive to the gig was nice. Singing along to our favourite songs, Lauren and I kissed at every stop sign or red light. I was beyond happy to actually be able to call her my girlfriend now.
When we arrived at the gig, I grabbed my drumsticks out and we headed straight inside, being greeted by the security guard by the door. There were a lot of people here tonight which was always nice. It meant it would be a good gig, hopefully.
"Hey! Look who made it!" I heard Maddi call out as we approached her and Elena.
"Hey Mads. How's it going?" I asked.
"Great, how are you?" Maddi asked, raising an eyebrow. She was obviously referring to my plan of asking Lauren out.
"Well, I am absolutely fantastic," I said. Then I turned towards Lauren. "How about you, girlfriend?" I cheekily smiled.
"I'm fantastic as well girlfriend." Lauren grinned.
"IT WORKED?! YOU TWO ARE TOGETHER FOR REAL NOW?" Maddi cheered.
"Yeah, but we'll tell you the details later. Right now though, I've gotta go set up my drums." I said.
"I'll give you a hand." Lauren said. We both headed up onto the stage, saying hello to a few people along the way.
"Hey Chlo! Hey Laur!" Ashley said happily.
"Hey Ash, how's it going?" I asked.
"Great, Riley's down talking to the important people right now. We've gotta be on top of our game tonight." Ashley said.
"Well I don't know about you, but I'm in an amazing mood tonight and I think I'll have a good performance night." I said.
"Good. You better or else we're all going to mess up." I heard Connor come up behind us.
"No pressure then right?" I laughed.
"No pressure at all. Also, we're sticking to the original set. It's our best and most rehearsed so Riley thinks it's best if we use that one." Connor explained.
"Okay awesome. How long until we start?" I asked.
"20 minutes!" Riley called out from behind me. "So, the business dudes are here and they're totally ready to sign us to their business. It's not a label as such, but more of a management team. They just need to see the crowds reaction to our live stuff and we'll be good to go!" Riley said excitedly.
"This could be good guys. One gig and we might be able to be something so much bigger." Ashley said.
"You guys deserve the world. And we'll all be here supporting you the whole way." Lauren smiled.
"Thanks babe." I smiled.
"Alright, we better get ready. Last minute checks and everything yeah." Riley said with a nod.
After finishing up our set up, it was time to start the show. With a kiss good luck from Lauren, she exited the stage and returned to the bar where my friends were standing. We took our positions on stage, all of us nervous yet extremely excited for this gig. This could change everything.
"Hey, how we all doing tonight?" Riley said into the microphone, gaining attention from all across the venue. "We are Ending Eternity and we're ready to have a great night tonight!" He cheered as we began the first song of many.
...
"Thank you and goodnight!" Riley cheered.
Our set had gone wonderfully. The crowd was extremely responsive and there was a good vibe all round.
