Later That Day
"Everything is ready in the babies room?" I asked and Nicki shook her head.
"No, it's still a lot that needs to be done." Rubbing her stomach, she turned and looked at me.
"Aight, I'll finish it up." Nicki laid on her side and faced me. "You got the ideas of how you want it?"
"Okay, I know you sleepy as fuck baby." She nodded. "Go to sleep."
Nicki moved closer to me, turning her back to me. Wrapping my arm around her, she sighed in comfort.
"Babe, can you get started tomorrow?" She asked while yawning and looking back.
"If you want me to, you gone stay in the house and wear a mask or leave?"
"I'm on bed rest baby, I'll stay in here and not leave out. I'll still wear the mask too though."
"Okay, I'll get the stuff in the morning."
"When you came home earlier, you had tear stains on your face." Nodding my head, she looked back again.
"I just seen my baby girl and couldn't hold it in. She cried as soon as she seen me and just being able to hold her outside of those prison walls.. that shit hit me."
"I've never seen you cry baby."
"Shit, I never seen myself cry." We both laughed and she shook her head.
"The bond you have with Brielle, I wish I had that with her." I looked over at her. "She don't want to have that with me the way she does with you."
"You know she do, don't say that. Brielle love you bae, she just gravitate towards me. You got Braiden."
"No, that's not the thing. The thing is, if it don't involve you, she don't want to be around me. I love the relationship between y'all, I really do. I just want her t-.. I don't know."
"Don't think she don't love you, because she do. The first thing she told me when we got in the house earlier was, let's surprise mommy."
"Maybe I'm being emotional and over dramatic, hormonal too."
"But I don't want you feeling like that, I haven't noticed it but if you do, we can talk about it."
"No, I'm probably overreacting about something that's not true." She laid back down on her side and huffed out.
"Just relax." Nicki nodded and pulled the covers up more.
The Next Morning
"Princess, you want to come with me to get some things for the baby room?"
"Yes." She jumped up off her bed and we walked to her bathroom.
"Aight, gone take a bath first and then get dressed." Running her bath water, she sat on the edge of the tub.
"Is everyone coming?"
"No, just you and I. Unless you want everyone to come."
"Go tell mommy and have her send Braiden in here so I can get both of y'all ready."
Brielle ran out and went to the room. Waiting for a minute, Brielle walked in holding Braiden hand. Once the water was done, I undressed them both and sat them in the tub.
"We go out with daddy today, Braiden."
He looked at her and she stared back. I chuckled to myself and shook my head. "Bri, you love your mom, right?"
