"I'm gonna miss them." Megan, Rob and the girls had just boarded their flight back home and I already felt the loss.
"Yeah, me too." Jay wrapped his arm around my shoulder and kissed my temple. "But, for us, our holiday is just beginning." He grinned and I couldn't help but think about the next few weeks where it would be just Jay and I.
"Soooo, what do you want to see?" He asked as we exited the craziness that was Heathrow airport.
My excitement took hold and I couldn't contain it. "Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, Windsor Castle, Oxford Street....ummm" I said as I took a breath. "Big Ben, Trafalgar Square...."
Jay laughed. "Someone's done their homework." He teased and I buried my face against his chest.
"I was excited, London has always been on my bucket list." I confessed.
"Well Mia, I guess we should get started if we're gonna fit all that into the next few days." He whistled a taxi and I tried to contain myself as we headed towards Buckingham Palace.
"I love them." I beamed as Jay took my photo with a Beefeater.
"Thank you so much Johnny." I knew they couldn't show any emotion but I saw a slight raising at the corner of his mouth and his eyes were sparkling. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your day."
My smile grew when he whispered. "Thanks darlin', you too."
"Seriously Mia, you got him to talk? You do know they're not supposed to?" Jay was clearly surprised.
I laughed and nodded. "I think I went on one of my excited rants. He probably felt sorry for me; or just wanted to shut me up."
Jay threw his head back and laughed. "You're one of a kind babe."
3 days later we were seated on the hovercraft on our way to France.
"Thank you Jay." I said again. "I can't believe we saw so much in London, more than I ever dreamt possible."
"You know, even though I've been there a few times I've never really done the sightseeing bit. Until now it's always been a family catch up. I enjoyed it as much as you."
"I'm so excited Jay, I can't believe that an hour from now we'll be in France." I squealed.
"I bet you're just as prepared." He teased and I blushed as I thought of the list I'd made of everything I wanted to see
"We don't have to...." I began, only to be cut off.
"We'll do whatever you want Mia, go wherever and see whatever. I don't want to leave with you regretting not seeing anything. Got it?"
I beamed up at him and nodded. "Got it."
The hotel was in the heart of Paris with a view of the Arc de Triomphe.
"Oh my god babe, look at that; the Eiffel Tower is in the background."
Jay stepped up behind me and I felt his smile as he kissed my neck. "It's beautiful Mia. As beautiful as you."
Whether it was the atmosphere of the 'City of Love' or just my love for the man standing behind me, I wasn't sure, but I turned in his arms and kissed him deeply.
"I swear I'm the luckiest girl alive Jay. I can't believe I'm here with the man I love more than life itself. And...you brought me here. I just...I can't..."
Jays lips met mine in a gentle kiss. "I'm just as lucky to be here with you Mia. Believe me babe, this is so much better because you're by my side."
