Chapter 8

Remus and I reached Kings Cross a little after ten thirty. We raced inside, wanting to have plenty of time. We loaded our things onto a trolley a went towards platforms nine and ten. Once we reached there, we looked at each other and smiled. I ran at the wall between nine and ten and found myself on Platform 9 3/4. The magnificent black and red train sat in the station, students rushing to get on, witches and wizards waving goodbye to their children.

Remus ran onto the platform and stood behind me. He placed his hand on my shoulder and I looked back at him. I smiled and started walking. We went up to the train and got on. We took all of our things on and found a compartment. We sat down across from each other and waited.

It was five minutes until the train left and Remus was out like a light, curled up in a corner. I was reading my book when I heard the compartment door open. I looked up and saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione standing in the doorway.

"Rhea! It's nice to see you." Hermione, who was standing up front, said.

"It's nice to see you guys too." I said, closing my book.

"Can we sit here? Everywhere else is full." She asked.

"Of course." I said, switching seats to sit next to Remus.

"Who's that?" Ron asked, sitting down next to Hermione.

"Are you that stupid?" Hermione asked.

"What?" Ron asked, obviously not knowing who Remus was.

"That's Professor R.J. Lupin. It's Rhea's dad!" Hermione said.

"Is he really sleeping?" Harry asked. "He was out ages ago. He's asleep." I said.

"Good, cause I've got to tell you something." Harry said, closing the compartment door. He sat down next to me and we all looked at him.

"When I was talking to Mr. Weasley back at the Leaky Cauldron, he told me that Sirius Black was after me." Harry said. I looked down at the ground, trying hard to control my anger.

"Why would he be after you?" I asked quietly.

"Mr. Weasley said that he wanted to finish what Voldemort started. He wants to kill me."

I tightened my fists and took a deep breath. Hermione looked at me and said. "Rhea, are you alright?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. It's just I'm mad at something at went on at home. It's no big deal." I said, hopefully convincing her.

"Are you sure, because looking at you it doesn't seem like a big deal."

"I'm fine." I said. I looked at Harry and said. "You can keep going."

"Oh right. Yeah anyway he was telling me that it was going to be dangerous this year at Hogwarts for everyone." Harry said. I bit my lip to keep myself from saying anything.

"Let's talk about something else." I said. "Don't want to be depressed or scared when we get to Hogwarts."

"Yeah, there isn't a thing we need to worry about. Hogwarts is the safest place we could be." Hermione said. We all nodded and started talking about school and random things.

We were about an hour in to our train ride and the train slowed down. We looked at each other confused, and Remus was still asleep. I looked out the window and saw the glass frosting up. I looked at Harry and we both went wide eyed. We looked at Ron and Hermione and they were wide eyed too.

"Why are we stopped?" Hermione said. "We can't be there yet."

Remus's glass bottle of water sitting on the windowsill froze. Ron placed his hand on the frosting window and the rain drops still falling on the glass froze an outline around it. He gave a look of panic at us and sat back.
