“Nancy? Where are we going?”
“Sshh, come on Tim, we’re going to meet Tendra.”
“Why Nancy? Everyone is here.”
“We just have to, now be quite. You want to make sure your sister’s alright don’t you?”
“Yes.”
He went along with her so easily. She never could understand how children were so trusting, she would be damned before she trusted as easily. Even Ashton; they loved each other but they were not mates and he couldn’t provide her with children. It made her angry that she was deprived but he never understood. His mate is was out there somewhere but he held her instead. She wanted to scream it to him sometimes - that he wasn’t the one and that was why they could never be a family. Damn it, it suffocated her. Knowing they both had real mates out there somewhere, not their pretend love. It was human love they felt and wolves were so much stronger. It would be better if she found her mate.
She hated that she had had him killed. That she had made the call, but she would never be free, never manage to find her mate if he was alive. Her tears came easily but it was for the best. Now she could mate and have children. Children like Tim. She looked down at him, so sweet and caring and innocent in actions but not mind. He knew too much, had seen too much and damn it he was scarred just as much as Tendra - inside his mind. She was doing him a favour. A quick death and his suffering would be gone.
She justified her actions dragging him through the mansion and let her tears fall. The only way to get out of this was to play a little on that teeny emotion she felt. That human grief that was fading with each hour.
“I need out.” She called to one of the warriors.
“No can do. You heard Alpha no one in, no one out – oh Nancy.”
“Two minutes I beg you, I need to breathe, I can’t breathe. Ashton should be with me, please two minutes, let my wolf just smell the air. Let me feel free. I don’t want to cry infront of everyone and I have to look after Tim.”
“Nancy…I can’t.”
“Please.” She let her tears flow feeling no shame, she could see the warrior, Justin, wavering in his decision. “Two minutes, you can count it down. You can see if others come, two minutes is nothing and you don’t have to lock the door.”
“Two minutes Nancy, I’m counting; one hundred and twenty seconds and your back in. But leave Tim, he needs to stay here.”
“He calms me. Please he calms me!”
“I calm her down Sir, she stops crying with me usually. She makes food instead. Please Mister, can I go with her? I’ll be good, I’ll stay right by her side.”
