"Hey baby," a man with alcohol scented breath cooed into my ear, and with that, I was groped for the third time that night. And I got here five minutes ago.
Michael was gripping tightly onto my hand as he led me through the house. I guessed that we were going to the kitchen, since the smell of alcohol suddenly became very strong. It was highly overwhelming.
I sucked in a large breath of air, and released when Michael gave me a weird look towards my puffed-up cheeks. I blushed, completely embarrassed that he saw that. He chuckled, earning a slap in the arm.
"Ow!" He rubbed his arm, muttering curses under his breath.
"Michael!" Someone called out. He spun, turning in the direction it came from. A boy, that seemed to be our age, walked up to Michael, doing one of those bro-handshakes.
I awkwardly stood there, shuffling around them, and towards the kitchen counter. I leaned against it, watching as the two boys chatted.
All of a sudden, I felt an arm wrapping around my shoulder, making me tense up. Looking to my left, I sighed in relief when I realized who it was.
"God, T, you scared me!" I widened my eyes, playfully punching him on the shoulder.
Thaddeus has been my best friend since the first day of high school, when he moved here, and his good looks entered him on the book of players know in our school.
So every girl wants him.
Except for me.
Thaddeus was my best friend, and I don't think anything will or can change that.
He chuckled, and opened his mouth to respond, but was cut short when someone yanked him away from me.
"What the hell do you think you're doing, man?!" Michael shouted, pushing him which caused T to stumble.
Now, I know T. I knew he wasn't one for violence.
But what happened next, made me see him in a whole different way.
"I can't believe that god damned loser punched me." Michael muttered angrily, spitting blood onto the front lawn.
We were still at the party, of course, but after Michael pushed Thaddeus, Thaddeus went ahead and punched him in the face telling him to back off, and it went like your normal fight from there. Of course, I felt the need to break them up, so, being the idiot that I am, I stood in between them causing me to get a blow to the face.
And it was from Thaddeus. After listening to him apologize repeatedly, I got tired of it, so I led Michael out front, where the only people there was a couple making out.
And Michael wouldn't stop freaking out.
"Michael," he directed his attention towards me, "Calm the fuck down, would ya?"
His expression visibly softened when he noticed the bruise forming on my jaw. He gently ran his fingers on it, causing it to sting just the tiniest bit.
I closed my eyes, dropping my head.
I just want to go home.
"Damn," Michael mumbled. "Are you okay?"
I shrugged, not feeling like talking.
"That's it, I'm gonna go and make that boy wish that he never-"
"No." opening my eyes, I looked up at him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Just -- just forget about it."
"But-" he began to protest, but instantly stopped when he saw the look I gave him.
We ended up laying on the grass, looking up towards the night sky.
I looked to my right. Michael had his eyes closed but his eyebrows were furrowed in confusion.
"For what?" I whispered.
His eyes fluttered open. He turned his head to look at me, staring for a few moments. "Bringing you to this stupid party."
"No," I placed a hand on his cheek. "It's fine, really,"
He sighed, realizing that he'd get nowhere with me if he even bothered arguing.
Once again, we laid there silently.
"I could really go for sex right about now."
I rolled my eyes. "You're always in the mood for sex."
He turned to look at me. "And you're not?" He playfully winked.
My face turned red, so I covered it with my hands.
He gently peeled my hands away from my face, cupping it in his. Our lips were then smashed together, as we greedily kissed each other.
I don't quite remember who kissed who first, but in this moment, I don't care.
Woooooooooow okay I'm sorry for the horrible chapter, this chapter confused even me.
But it was kinda cute
