Chapter 4 - Present Day

Start from the beginning

“That’s a nice and interesting game you’re playing.”

And when I looked up, I saw someone smiling at me. Yes, he’s really gwapo. He’s the type na pagnadaanan mo siya sa mall, you can’t take your eyes off him.

“Well, for someone the same as my age, I though that they would think this game was boring and childish” I answered him while smiling. I was playing Angry Birds that time and ang alam ko, sa mga ka-age ko, they would think that my act is really childish

He sat down sa chair na tapat ko. “Well, not for me. I play that game too.”

Looking at him, I saw that this guy would’ve been a future CEO of a company. He looks smart yet really attractive. He would be the type that all the girls would die just to have him. Plus he has a dimple in the right side of his cheek which made him more cute.

“Matutunaw naman na ako sa tingin mo.” He told me while slightly laughing. “Nahihiya ako to ask pero may I ask you to dance with me.”

Natawa ako. “Is that the main reason why you went to me? Ang bagal mo naman. Pero sure, I will.”

He blushed with what I told him. Umiwas pa nga siya nang tingin. He’s really kind of cute.

We danced habang nagke-kwentuhan. We didn’t even noticed that we danced three whole songs dahil na rin siguro na we enjoy each others company. Sa sobrang ka-enjoyan namin sa isa’t-isa, we decided to go somewhere else.

Hindi na siya nagpa-alam sa parents niya kasi nga we’re in the age where we can decide on our own na, pero ako, nagpaalam parin ako since I don’t live with them anymore and I wanted them to know that I’m in good hands.

“Saan ba tayo pupunta?” I asked him while he was driving his Porsche Carrera GT.

“You’ll see.”

Earlier, dumaan kami sa isang convinience store na 24 hours open to buy some drinks and snacks. Sabi niya kasi baka daw magustuhan ko yung lugar na yun and baka magstay kami longer than planned.

He stopped the car sa isang eco-park. The trees in that park were full of christmas lights. Tapos flowers were all over the place which causes you to smell the scent of fresh flowers everywhere you go.

We went out of the car and chose kung saan kami pu-pwesto. Siya pumili kung saan kami pu-pwesto. Before we sat down, tinanggal niya yung coat niya at nilatag sa grass para doon daw ako umupo para daw hindi madumihan yung dress ko.

“So I guess this place is really special for you.” I told him while munching the chips we bought a while ago.

“Yes. I always go here whenever I have time. Nakaka-relieve kasi nang stress whenever I go here.” He answered shortly kasi kumakain din siya.

“What’s so special about this place?”

“Try to look up.” He told me habang tumuturo siya sa taas.

Pagkatingin ko, I saw the moon and the stars clearly. It was indeed beautiful. It was the perfect place to go stargazing. Dagdag mo pa yung trees na puno ng lights, it gave a romantic feel about the place.

I looked back at him and I was surprised that he was looking at me.

Our eyes met. I can’t understand why, pero I saw a curiousty in his eyes. Parang he was waiting for me to answer a hundred questions that he was asking. He held my chin and guided my face towards his. Slowly, our faces became inches apart until our lips touched.

He ended the kiss. Agad siyang umiwas nang tingin saakin. “I-I’m really sorry. Hindi ko dapat ginawa yun.” He said while blushing.

I didn’t know what to say. Bakit ko nga ba ginawa yun? -.-

“I think I should take you home already. It’s getting late.” Finally, he changed the topic.

I just nodded as a sign of approval. He helped me stand up tapos kinuha niya yung coat niya. On our way home, walang nagsasalita saamin. He was just shooting fast glances at each other.

“So, this is it.” I told him.

“You live there alone?”

“Well, yes. Minsan pumupunta yung mga kapatid ko and they would sleep-over for 2 days. Pero usually, ako lang.” I now live in the house where Michael and I was supposed to live after we got married. The one na pinuntahan namin before the wedding.

“I see. Parang it’s too big for you alone.”

“It really is.”

Bumaba siya sa drivers seat and opened my door. I found the gesture really sweet. Hinatid niya ako hanggang sa gate.

“So, this is goodbye then?” He asked me sadly.

“Not really. We can still see each other, you know.” He smiled with what I said. “Thank you for this night. I really enjoyed being with you.” I gave him a sweet smile.

Again, he just smiled and look at me.

“Oi! Uwi ka na.” Sabi ko. Nakakatawa kasi sinabi ko lang na pwede pa naman kaming magkita tapos parang ang saya saya niya na.

Pumunta na siya sa may car niya. I was supposed to go inside the gate pero before pa ako makapasok, sumigaw siya. “Sorry pero what’s your name?”

Funny how we enjoyed each others comapany kahit hindi pa namin alam mga name namin.

“Rein. Rein Allyson Villafuerte! Ikaw?!”

“Daniel! Daniel Mondragon! Good night, Rein! I’ll see you tomorrow!” He said tapos pumasok na siya sa car and drove away.
