Good day, peasants...

Thanatos here, and ready to rock your world. You're welcome.

So a little birdie told me that I'd be presenting this week's update- how tedious. As if you need my help, lady author. I know what you're really doing- you're trying to get them to pay attention by using my devilishly good-looks and evergreen charm...

You're devious- but I like it...

In any case, let's move on and get this over with so I can go back to keeping the population density at an appropriate level.

Don't look at me like that- it's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. Plus- it comes with a great pension fund.

Now; onto the content...

Our lovely, witty, beautiful and clever lady author (who so by the way forced me to say all of that) has written up some very interesting facts concerning my little tale, and she would like to share them with you, her favourite reader- yes, you there, with the nose.

Don't blush, darling, I like my women confident.

Hold on- I'm receiving a message...

Turn down the what? The charm? What for?

I thought you asked me here to lure them? No, I am certainly not doing this to make Aurora jealous! How dare you? How could you ask such a thing? I am above such petty things.

Aurora's here?

Quickly check- is she looking this way?

She is?

Let me wave to her casually... Yes, now she's mad.

*ahem* My apologies, I was momentarily distracted by ah... Wait? What's she doing with that servant boy? Is that a... Is that a rose he's giving her?

No, I will not calm down, woman!

Get someone else to do this shit.

Hey you, pretty boy!

Start running!

Eh... So sorry for that little unexpected... interlude.

Please, enjoy these fun facts about my first story; Thanatos: The Red Dawn.

1. This is the first book in the "Dawn Series". There are 6 books in total.

*Edit - 7 Books

2. Since the first book is called-'The Red Dawn', every chapter's title has some reference to a shade of red and some reference to the chapter's content.

3. Aurora means 'Dawn', whereas Thanatos means 'Death'.
Two very definite opposites; the dawn of a new day compared to the old, ancient and the end of life.

4. In my original draft Sonya and Trita were Aurora's original magic placeholders instead of the weather and were never meant to last through the first book, but I fell in love with the characters and decided to keep them.
Also, the amount of effort to rationalise their death was too much, not to mention Aurora would've been far too devastated by it and I wanted more humour in the book and less gravity weighing my leading lady down...

5. In addition to the fact above, Trita and Sonya derive their names from Hecate- Trita for 'Triodia' (Who frequents crossroads- seeing as Trita is quite unpredictable and indecisive)
Sonya for 'Soteira' (Saviour- Because she's the one who always has her heart open and her feet on the ground)

You'll also see that Hecate's mostly depicted in 3's- Hence 3 friends, 3 main girls in the underworld, 3 books and a lot more references to the number, but let me not bore you.

6. Hypnos- Thanatos' twin brother- plays a pivotal role in the next book.
No worries, they don't look alike, I didn't want to make them similar at all.
And no, there will be no love-triangle with Hypnos, Thanatos and Aurora

7. I started writing this book in 2011, but only began publishing it on Wattpad around 2014. This is my first book I've ever written...

8. The next book's title will be 'The Blue Dawn'- sticking with the Dawn route...
And yup, you guessed it, blue chapter references!

9. Just for interest sake, I don't believe very much in this sort of thing, but it provides some entertainment-

I always imagined Aurora to be an Aquarius- for her reliability, curious personality, bluntness and for being so imaginative. She's also detached sometimes and stubborn...

Thanatos would totally be a Scorpio in my mind- commanding, intense, passionate, driven, dedicated and manipulative. Let's not forget possessive...

Trita- Leo

Sonya- Cancer

Alexus- Virgo

I, myself, am a Capricorn/Aquarius cusp... But more of a Cap than anything else really.

*And something I do find quite true are the Myer's Briggs personality types:

Aurora would be an INTP

Thanatos ENTJ

But as for the rest, I haven't given it much thought? Any suggestions?

I myself am an INTJ.

10. I made a few necessary changes to some classic Myths-

For instance- Zeus is actually the youngest brother and Hades the eldest, but obviously that didn't work so well in my book so I had to change it up a bit.

Also- Thanatos is the Greek god of death, but peaceful death... (But as you know, I roughened up his job description)

The river Lethe is actually the forgetful river in the Greek Underworld and not the river Styx, but I changed it to suit the story.

11. And finally- Just a bit about myself-
I'm from Namibia- a country in Africa.

I'm of German and Afrikaans descent.

My birthday is the 20th of January.

I just finished my degree in business management sciences and economics with law and my postgraduate in financial planning.

I speak three languages- Afrikaans, English and German. I'm learning Portuguese.
