Christians - Remember Why
January 30th 2012
Topic: Spending Time with God
Jesus gave His life for you. He was beaten, tormented, and killed for you. He took your sins and offered you a place in His Fathers house. He asked for nothing in return. It was a gift that He gave you, not a loan. All He wants is for you to live for Him, to love Him, to talk to Him and pray to Him. What a small gift we can give Him in exchange for what He has given us.
God gave His precious Son to you because He loves you. He loves you so much more than anyone can ever understand. When you don't take time out of your day to talk to Him, read His words, or do Devotions, it is ditching Him. You are leaving Jesus at home while you go out and play with others. He was killed for you, but you can't take 30-60mins out of your day to worship Him, talk to Him, pray to Him, or learn His word?
If none of this convinced you to have daily time with God, then just think of how much He loves you. God is not just the Creator, He is a loving Daddy who wants to spend time with His children. And even though it's true that He goes with you everywhere and you can always talk to Him, that's not all there is to it. You can set aside a time that is just for God. Don't do homework, watch Tv, play video games, or be around others. Just set aside a time everyday to just talk to God. Maybe do some devotions, worship with songs, pray, etc.
God loves you, don't leave Him at the back of your mind.
Have a Christ-centered day!
Romans 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
You can get Devotional books from any Christian store and possibly church in your town. Or you can order one online for only a few dollars.
