When you write, do you listen to music to get ideas or inspiration?

Most definitely!  They go hand in hand for me!  Music is so vital in my life that I can’t think of writing without it.  I’ll be listening to a song, and I start to think of where the singer is coming from: the situation, the feelings, the yada yada.  Sometimes before the song is over, I’ll have a mini plot for the song written out in my head.  I picture it as a movie in my head, you know?  I’m just the lucky person who gets to write it all down.

Favorite song/band/artist you like to listen to when you're writing?

All Time Low, Falling in Reverse, Ramones, Adele, Sister Hazel, Mayday Parade, Paradise Fears, The Ready Set, and the Beatles are all really big on my writing playlist.  I turn to different bands for different things.  If I’m writing a heartbreaking scene, I listen to Adele’s ballads.  For the most part though, I have been listening to All Time Low and Falling in Reverse while writing Kissing School.  If you haven’t heard of any of those bands/artists you should go check them out!  They’re all amazing!

Do you have a role model you look up to? (Celebrities, family members, friends, teachers, etc...)

I have so many role models.  I want to be like Kathy Reichs.  She is a forensic anthropologist and author which is exactly what I want out of life.  I also look up to my parents who are strong on so many different levels and have taught me so much.  I try to find something to admire in every person that I keep close to me, especially my friends.  For some of them, it might be their intelligence, personality, wit, creativity, or maybe even strength.  I have managed to surround myself with people who are amazing and much better people than me.  In their own way, I look up to them all.

Do you prefer reading or writing and why?

It is equal for me.  I love reading.  It was one of my first loves.  My mom would read me a bed time story every night, but I love writing, too.  I have a passion to put words on paper and create my own stories like the ones that I love.  I am a writer because I am a reader.  If it weren’t for me reading stories, I would never have wanted to write my own.

Describe three words about yourself.

Like describe myself in three words?  Or boy, this is tough.  I suck at these things!

Long-winded, smart, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd student

Sorry, those aren’t very deep, but it’s what I have for tonight.  I did warn you that I suck at these things!

Do you have a pet peeve? If so, what is it?

I have so many pet peeves, but I can never point them out unless people are doing them.  Is that weird?  The only reason I can tell you that whining is one of my pet peeves is because I had to recently deal with someone who is very whiny.  For some reason people think that whining will get their way, but it just pisses me off.  I instantly refuse to do whatever it is they were asking of me.  I really hate whining….

Do you have a favorite undiscovered story on Wattpad? If so, what is it and do you believe it deserves WAY more votes and views than it has now?

Coming Up for Air by decemberfallen!  It is a very new story that is still in the works.  I love it though!  It only has like 130 something reads.  If I could, I would totally change that! 

Random question: If you were allowed to dye your hair any color, what would it be?

That is awesome that you asked that because I just dyed my hair a week ago!  I went red!  I have always secretly wanted to be a red head, and now I am kind of one.  It was only temporary dye though, so it is slowly fading back to my normal, regular brown!  If not red, I would probably do some ridiculous crazy coloring.  Maybe black with pink, blue, and purple highlights.  I’m never going to do it, but it’d be cool!

What do your friends describe you as?

I’m kind of the mother of the group who keeps everyone in line when we go do stuff.  I’m not really sure what else they would say, hopefully nice things. Haha:D

Do you have a nickname?

Not really big on the nicknames.  My name is short, so people don’t have to change it up too much.  Sometimes people will call me Kris which is fine, but I despise when people call me Krissy.  I don’t know why that has always bothered me so much, but it just irks me to no end when someone calls me that!

Random question: When life gives you lemons, what would you do with them?

Make grape juice and sit back and watch while everyone wonders how I did it!  Haha That is silly, but I’m not a big fan of lemonade.  If I literally had lemons, I would probably use them as air freshener because they smell AMAZING!

If you could add anything to Wattpad, what would it be?

I wish there were a way to advertise more than just doing read for reads because sometimes people don’t actually follow through with those.  That can get annoying.

Do you see yourself as an author when you're older or sometime in the future? What do you want to be in the future?

On my bucket list, I have become a published author and have a book on the NY Time’s best seller list.  I mean, I already have the tattoo planned out for when I sign a publishing contract!  Haha.  However, I also want to become a forensic anthropologist.  That’s the dream right there.  If I can find a way to do both, I would be ecstatic!

Do you have any shout outs you would like to say to your fans out there?

My fans are absolutely amazing!  You guys never cease to surprise me!  I can’t believe how on some chapters I’ll get 30 votes overnight.  That still shocks me!  I’m dumbfounded by this idea.  I mean, I can’t believe I’m giving an interview right now!  That’s ridiculous!  I love my fans because they’re awesome!  I really appreciate all they do!

Lastly, do you have any advice for other writers?

Don’t give up.  Sometimes you feel like you are writing complete crap, and you might be.  It happens!  Let it sit for a couple days and then completely re-write it!  Just remember, wattpad is a way to get you out there.  That doesn’t mean your story is ready for print!  Put your rough draft up here and get advice!  Just remember though to never give up if you really love writing!
