Torn.
That's what Riley is. Unable to rebuild herself from all the damage done, runs away from her pack. Her home. Every-
one and everything that she has ever cared about. She just left.
Confused.
Why would someone lik...
"I, Kacen Hikers, Alpha of pack Red howl, reject you, Riley, as my mate." He said emotionless.
How did I not see this coming?
(Twenty Minutes Before)
"How about this one?" Rachel said as she held up a skimpy pink dress about five inches above the knee.
"No! This is a pack meeting, not a wedding!"
"Always dress to impress." She commented as she tapped my nose with her pointy-purple-painted nail.
"Whatever. But I don't have time for this. The meeting starts in ten minutes anyway. I'll just wear a pair of jeans or something." She shriveled up her nose in disgust and rolled her eyes.
"Ya okay. But just so you know, you might meet your mate tonight. Don't you think you would want look..presentable?" She muttered.
"I'll be fine. Plus, what are the chances of me finding my mate this very night?"

"Yes mam." I retorted sarcastically.
I quickly browsed through my wardrobe and decided on a black crop top, a flannel, and grey jeans.

I looked over at Racheal and I was awestruck. She was wearing a violet laced dress with white heels. Her beautiful amber locks were curled flawlessly, making there way down to the middle of her back.
I was always jealous of her beauty. I wasn't terrible looking. I just wasn't her.
"Ready girl?" Racheal's mom asked, peaking into the room.
"Almost ma." I responded. Racheal's mom has always made me feel like her daughter. My mother was a crazy lady, but in the good way. She was much interested in science and always went on random adventures to explore. I adore my mother. Her bravery is was caused her death. My father? That's a completely different topic.
-Flash Back-
"Mum! I want to go over there!" My five year old self said, pointing to a river bank off of our territory.
"Sorry sweetie. That's not our property. You can't go there." She responded sweetly.
"But mummy! I want to swim!" I whined.
"I'm sorry baby girl. Your just going to have to stay in our space." She said, bending her knees down to my level.
My mother turned around and started looking at all the flowers and plants around. I saw it as my perfect opportunity to cross the territory.
