Chapter Nine ~ The Job

"Good afternoon." The man at the desk looks at me with a smile and he holds out his hand and I shake it politely. "Please take a seat."

"Thank you." I say and sit in the chair opposite him.

"I heard your art skills are quite stunning. Did you bring anything you could show me?" He asks raising an eyebrow.

"Yes!" I nod once and open up my bag which sits in lap. Pulling two pieces of paper out from my bag I pass them over. "The first one is to do with the project I'm working on college, the other one is to do with the new business game."

"I like your style." He says to me his eyes dancing everywhere across the paper.

"Thank you." I smile.

He places the paper down on his and slides them back to me "I'm very impressed Miss Chiyo. So, tell me why you would like this job?"

"I..., I feel like I can bring more extra details into the games you make. Cutest to the Scariest. I also feel I can encourage more young members of the staff to continue working at the best and get more teens to buy these games."

He looks at me. "Just teens?"

"Well. Teens mostly because I saw on the website over 75% of teens bought your new came 'Hunters X Paranormal' last year and only 25% of adults. But of course I would love more adults to buy so we can sell."

"I liking your confidence. You're probably the most prepared out of all of the people I've seen this week." He tells me.

"I thank you once again." I nod my head once.

"Would you like to continue this over dinner?" He asks me.

"I'm sorry Sir, but at the moment I'm currently dating." I say my eyes twitching.

I hope this doesn't make my loose my job!

"It's always the pretty and intelligent ones." He laughs "Never mind. I'll let you know soon as possible if you've got the job. I only have one person let. I have your number on your forms."

"Once again thank you, it was very nice meeting you." I say standing up collecting the sheets of paper before shaking his hand once again.

Leaving the room I exhale. I think that went better then expected.

Looking at my watch I see that it's almost 12:30.

"Great it's time to meet Ema for lunch!" I smile before hearing my stomach rumbling.

"Ema!" I call waving my hand smiling.

"Chiyo!" She smiles and gives me a quick hug before we sit down and order our food.

"How's uni?" I ask.

"It's been absolutely fine. Iori-San has been very helpful." She smiles "How about you? You had the interview just now, right?"

I nod my head once "I think it went pretty well."

"I'm sure you'll get the job!" She smiles.

"Thank you Ema." I smile in return.

"So, how are you and Natsume?" She asks changing the subject and I feel my cheeks heat up.

"Mhm we're fine." I say before taking a gulp of lemonade the waitress placed on our table.

"Chiyo?" Ema tilts her head.

"I don't see him a lot lately. Normally he's working and I'm college and when he gets home he's tired and ends up sleeping."

"Umm... Maybe work is stressing him out? Ah! You moved into your new house last weekend, right? Maybe he's not getting enough sleep as well."

"I don't know." I say and take a bit of my bacon sandwich.

"How is your new house?" She asks.

"Perfect. Two bedrooms, a garden, garage for Natsume's car. We also brought Taubaki, Asuza and Cho's collars the other day." I smile. "That reminds me, where is Juli?"

"Juli is with Louis at home." She tells me. "Oh! I better get going, sorry Chiyo."

"It's okay." I say

Ema finds her purse and pays for the full meal before saying goodbye and rushing off.

Finishing the last part of the sandwich I stand up and take the money to the counter before leaving as well.

Rubbing my eyes I yawn. Pulling out my door keys I open the door and say "I'm home."

Placing my shoes to the side I enter the living where I find Natsume looking right at me.

"N-Natsume?! What are you doing home so early?" I ask.

"Well, work finishes early today and I couldn't miss hearing about my girlfriends interview." He blushes.

"It went quite well. I just need to wait for a call." I say

"You got a call earlier." Natsume tells me.

"I did?"

"You got the job."

"W... What?" I ask.

He smiles at me "You got the job!"

"I got the job!" I smile and run up to him hugging him tightly.

"Congratulations." Natsume whispers into my hair "I knew how much you wanted this."

"I'm so glad!" I laugh.

Natsume pulls away smiling before we both go to our knees laughing, Natsume kisses me softly.

Everything is perfect.
