Well, it was time to go back to Florida.
This past month with Shay and his family have been amazing. He took me back and forth to the hospital for my checkups, and I got the green light to head on back to Florida. I was sad that I was leaving, but I knew I would be back sometime. All our bags were packed and we were ready to get to the airport.
"Well, it's time for us to go now." Alli says, giving the kids one last hug.
"Don't go! Stay with us!" Princesstard says.
"I'm sorry honey. I have to get back home. I promise I will come visit again sometime," she said.
I turn to Shay and tackle him with a big hug.
"Shay, thank you so much for keeping us with you for this past month. You're the best!" I say.
"No problem! You can come stay with us anytime. I'm glad you're okay." he says, returning the hug.
We piled into Shay's car and drove off to the airport. As we are on the 405, I look around the car and try to visualize all the kids sitting in the car once the new baby comes. I turn to Colette.
"How are you going to fit 5 kids in the truck?" I ask.
"Well, we were thinking of putting the baby on the roof. He could be our siren to let other drivers know that the Shaytards are near!" she says with a laugh.
We arrive at the airport and check in. After a very, very, very long security line, we finally reached our gate. We had to fly to Atlanta and then onwards to Tampa. I felt like Atlanta was our second home since we've connected through that airport so many times before. I knew that airport inside and out!
It was funny to think that a little over a month ago, Shay and I were in here looking for our phones. And that's when Alli surprised us. How the time flies...
After 7 hours of travelling, we were home. Zoey and Marley, of course, were the first people to tackle us. We picked them up from Lauren's house and took them back with us to our house. It was nice to be back on my own bed again. After everything that happened in LA, I needed a break time with the dogs back at home. But I had to say, this trip was absolutely amazing. Besides the seizure part, everything was perfect. And I can't wait to go back.
~~~~~~~7 months later~~~~~~
I woke up to the sound of my phone vibrating on my nightstand next to me. I look at the alarm clock. 10:36am. It was earlier than I wanted to wake up. Who could be calling me now? I pick up my phone to see Shay's number.
"Hello?" I say in a groggy voice.
"Good morning sleepyhead! Look at the time! Get up!" he says in the jolly voice I loved.
"Sir, it's almost 11am here!" I say.
"Oh, woops! Forgot about the time difference! Anyway, I have some great news to tell you. Colette is delivering the baby next week! And, I want you and Alli to be here to see him." he says.
"Really? Congratulations man!" I say with a big smile on my face.
"Yup! Can you come out next week. The due date is scheduled for next Wednesday." he replies.
"Oh, I'm going to be there for sure!" I say, as I pull up the Delta website to start searching for flights.
"Awesome! I'll see you in a week then!" he says.
I hang up the phone and start going through the Delta website to look for flights. I informed Alli about the news and she was super excited to go. After looking for 2 days, we found the perfect flights and booked them immediately. On the inside, I couldn't contain my excitement; I wanted to see the new Butler baby just as much as Shay and Colette also.
"Honey! I booked the flights! We're going to be leaving in 4 days." I say to Alli, who is in the kitchen. She runs over to the room.
"That's great honey." she says, with a concerned tone in her voice. Her eyes looked very desperate, as if she wanted to say something to me.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Oh, nothing. Just feeling a little sick. Hopefully, I get better before we head to LA." she says.
I get up and give her a hug. Alli has been feeling a bit under the weather lately, and I've been doing everything I can to help her get better. But I could tell something else was bothering her. I just couldn't figure it out.
~~~~~four days later~~~~~~~
Our suitcases were packed, and we had everything we needed. Alli still looked a bit sick, but it was much better from what she was before.
During the car ride to the airport, Alli was silent. Something was bothering her. I tried to make small talk and have her vlog a little bit, but she didn't have the heart to. Something was wrong.
We checked in and went to our gate. After visiting Ted and fist bumping the statue, we sat down. I leaned over to Alli and put my head on her shoulder.
"Honey. You haven't been eating properly, and you aren't looking your best. What's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing. Just a little bit sick still. It's nothing big." she says, trying to force a smile on her face.
We board the plane and take our business class seats that we were upgraded to. Instead of connecting through Atlanta, we had a direct flight to LA. So this would give me time to help Alli. As we take off, Alli leans over to me and wraps her arms around me. The rest of the world faded out, and it was just Alli and I in each others arms. She turns to me and locks eyes with me.
"I have something to tell you." she says in a quiet voice.
"Alright. Tell me what's wrong?" I say, brushing her hair out of her face.
"Honey, I'm pregnant." she says.
