Charlotte (Deux)

As I rise in the morning, barely dawn

My mind reflects on the previous night

The newly wet asphalt, the dim streetlight

A frightened voice telling me you are gone

The absence of mind leaves me to respawn

Here in this darkness, the absence of light

Comforting me like an embrace so tight

I feel so used, nothing more than a pawn

The peace I felt before the rain began

Does little for now as I lay here

Broken, dying, in need of one who can

Save me from this prison of lies and fear

Take me back to love, where it all began

Thinking of you, screaming is all I can hear
