I snuck around the girls house when she drove off her street and onto another. The fence was high but I found a large rock close enough for me to hop onto it and get over. Luckily, a tall hedge bordered around her house so no one could see me. I got onto the rock and slowly made my way over. Why am I not calling the police? Why am I not telling anybody? Cause I don't need to. Nami will know to never go towards that girl ever again.
I gently jumped to the ground. Nami didn't move at all not even his ears. He just lay in the ground with his head on his paws.
"Nami..." I slowly started walking over.
He still didn't move.
"Nami, it's me." I continued talking.
His tail wagged weakly slowly while his ears painfully turned back.
I came up closer and stood in front of him. He looked worse up close. Nami lifted his head and whined while his tail wagged a little faster. I gently put my hand out and he crawled closer to me and rested his head in my lap. He closed his eyes and whined again.
"I'm getting you out of here." I gently but quickly pulled the chain off his neck. "Come on boy, you can get up."
He heaved himself up and whined at the pain. I felt bad for him. Luckily, I had my car down the street not to far away and had set up a blanket in the back seats. I went to the fence and lifted the latch to the gate. I didn't go through the gate when I was coming in cause I couldn't get the latch from the out side. Nami struggled to walk but managed.
I helped him into the car and quickly drove home. I once again helped him out and got him inside. "Let's clean you up Nami."
I walked him to the bathroom and filled up the tub. Nami reluctantly agreed since he knew he would be to weak to fight it. I gently cleaned him up and noticed some pretty bad wounds. I had some experience in this so I could fix these. None of them needed stitches and he had no broken bones.
I dried him off and lead him to his bed. I dressed his wounds carefully and gave him a big bowl of food. "Don't go crazy or you'll just barf it all up." I gently stroked his back as he picked at his food.
He was lying on his big bed with a blanket beneath him and his food bowl right in front of him. Nami finished his food and immediately went to sleep. I turned on the TV and tried to get my mind off of how bad of shape he's in.
A little while after, there was a knock at the door. I got up and saw Ray smiling in the doorway. "Hey." He smiled.
I put on a fake smile. "Hey!"
"Any luck?" He asked as he came inside.
"Yeah, I found him." I showed Ray Nami who was silently sleeping. "He was pretty cut up an dirty but I fixed him."
"Poor guy." Ray came over and gently stroked his head. Nami slowly opened his eye halfway an wagged a little before closing them again. "Where did you find him?"
Great. I'm not sure if I should lie, or tell the truth. "Someone had found him and I got him back." I was telling the truth in a different way.
He smiled. "Well that's good."
We relaxed the rest of the day and Nami slept all day. I cuddled into Ray's arms as we sat and watched New Girl. I breathed a sigh of relief and closed my eyes for a second. I felt tired and weak. Also still worried about Nami. I hope he gets better quick.
