Sorry it took me so long to get up guys, but here you go! I hope you enjoy it and let me know if you do or not! :) ~Emma
Kat quickly took her usually seat, motioning for Ashton to sit next to her. Ryan rolled his eyes and plopped down in a seat next to Calum.
"Guests sit down first," Mom hissed, hitting him over the head with a towel.
I laughed as I slowly sat down in a seat between Calum and Luke.
"Did she see me?" I whispered.
"Nah, I think you’re good," Luke smiled at me. I smiled back, trying to keep my heart from racing.
"Okay! Eat up," Mom smiled at everyone. The boys dug in, getting a little bit of everything that they could get their hands on.
"Sorry," Michael said with his mouth full, when he saw that I had nothing on my plate and that most of the food was gone.
"You’re good! I can just make myself a sandwich later," I waved him off.
"You sure? You can have some of mine," Luke motioned to his plate.
"i’m not even that hungry. I ate way too many muffins today," I told him.
"Yeah, about that, where’s mine?" Ryan pointed his fork at me.
"Um, my stomach?" I shrugged.
"You chose to work the weekend and night shift. That is not my fault," I pointed out.
"Ryan and Em both work at a local bakery," Dad explained.
"Food is good," Ashton said, causing Kat to giggle. Who am I kidding, she’s been giggling at everything he’s said this whole time!
"You’ll have to come by sometime. I’m pretty sure that I can hook you up with some delicious things," I laughed.
The rest of dinner went off without a hitch; Mom and Dad didn’t make fun of Kat, the boys were the perfect gentlemen, and it was just a really nice time.
"Would you guys be interested in getting ice cream?" Ryan asked the boys as we all put our dishes away.
"Yeah," they all agreed.
"Cool. Dad, we’re hijacking your protegees!" Ryan yelled as he grabbed his coat and walked out the door.
"Don’t break them," he joked as we all filed out.
"It’s just down the block a little," Ryan informed everyone.
"So what’s England like?" Ashton asked.
"Cold," Kat said simply. "It’s actually really lovely. I’m glad that Mom decided to move us here."
"Not like we had anything left for us back home," I muttered bitterly. Luke shot me a questioning glance, but I just brushed it off. My stomach rumbled loudly, causing everyone to look at me.
"I’m going to run and get a sandwich," I said, veering off from the group.
"Okay. Meet us at Sal’s when you’re done," Ryan called. I shot a thumb up into the air, signaling that I had heard.
I walked along, engrossed in my day dreams, That’s why I jumped when I felt someone place their arm on mine.
"Hey baby," a sleazy voice said from behind me. I turned to see a creepy looking boy, around 19, hold onto my upper arm.
"Let me go," I said, trying to get my arm away from him.
"Aw babe don’t be like that," he said, tsking me.
"I think she said to let her go," an Australian accent came from the darkness. Luke emerged, fists clenched. I let out a shaky breath; one I hadn’t known I’d been holding.
"What’s it to you?" the boy sneered.
"She’s a friend of mine," Luke glared at the boy, who just scoffed.
"Then you shouldn’t care what happens to her," the boy smiled cruelly. A flash of worry passed through, Luke’s eyes.
"She’s my girlfriend," Luke said quickly.
The boy’s hold on my arm loosened slightly. “Is that true?” the boy asked me. I nodded my head, wanting him to let me go more then anything. “I don’t believe either of you. Prove it,” he spat pushing me towards Luke.
"I’m sorry," Luke whispered as he pulled my closer and placed a kiss on my lips. He pulled apart a second later, looking back up at the boy angrily. "Happy?"
"Whatever," the boy scoffed, walking away.
"What was that?" I asked, trying to clear my mind. Had he really just kissed me?
"Are you okay?" Luke asked, his hand on my waist still. I nodded slowly, shivering in the cold night air and from the weird and creepy experience. "Come on," Luke said, grabbing me hand. I held onto it tightly, feeling safer now then I had ten minutes earlier.
