Chapter 25

I was awaken by a soft cry. I had forgotten that the baby was still at the house for a brief moment, then realizing she may never leave.

I lifted myself out of bed and slowly walked towards the cradle. It was only 5 in the morning.

I lifted Rosie up into my arms. She softly smiled at me. I kissed her on her forehead and walked into the kitchen.

Rosie was now older than one, so she was getting close to being able to walk, which scared me. I remember when she was just a tiny infant, when we weren't sure if she was going to be able to live. She was a true miracle.

Ponyboy walked into the kitchen, with no shirt on, classic, though I didn't mind at all. He looked tired and sad, but gave me a smile anyway.

"Good morning, bunny"

He said to me, and kissed me on the cheek. He then kissed the baby on her head. She reached out for him, and he soon cradled her in his large arms.

"What are we gonna do, Lucy?"

He asked, with a little grin. I rubbed my eyes and shrugged. He pouted a little and wrapped me in a hug with the baby laid against him. He pecked my on the lips and carried the baby back into our bedroom.

I cooked some eggs when Soda and Steve walked in the house.

Gee, people woke up a lot earlier than I thought.
