I can't believe he found me! What is he thinking?! Abandoning me and then leaving?! Who does he think he is? He's really gonna get it from me. Oh god, what if he tries to hurt Anthony, or Kalel, or Ian? Not Ian. I can't let him do that!
I was finally pulled from my thoughts when someone yelled in my face, "Xhex! Are you okay?" I looked up to see Ian with a worried expression.
"I'm fine. I gotta go." I ran up to the door, opening it, and ran out. Not even thinking about shoes. It was like being in a trance. I wasn't consciously thinking, I was just going. Going to find him. To put an end to him. I wasn't going to let him do anything to anyone. This was the end of his abuse. I was doing this out of anger, and it boiled to the brim of me, getting ready to spew over, like a volcano about to explode. I was half way down the street when I heard footsteps next to me.
"Xhex, stop. You're just angry. It'll be okay." Ian tried calming me down. Haha, good luck buddy. He doesn't understand what my dad is capable of, so he doesn't know what he's willing to do to get what he wants.
"Ian, I don't have the time. I have a man to find and kill."
Ian grabbed my arm and held me in place. I struggled, but wasn't budging. It didn't help that I didn't have shoes, and he had an iron grip. Since when was this boy so strong?
"Ian, let me go!" I shouted, but it didn't affect him.
"No, Xhex, what are you doing?"
I stopped my struggle to turn and look at him, "That man will try to hurt you guys. He wants me, for who knows what! But I won't let him do that. He abandoned me, and he even beat my mother. I had to sit and watch! I'm putting an end to him, once and for all."
"Please, don't. We will think of something, just come back inside. You don't even know where to find him right now." I stared at him for awhile. Was he crazy? I wasn't going to leave that pitiful man alive for another second and no one was going to stand in my way. But Ian was right, I had no idea where to go. And no idea what to do to him. I didn't even have shoes on, let alone a plan in my head.
"Fine." I finally said, pushing past Ian and walking towards the front door.
"Well, what do you plan on doing about this?" I asked everyone in the room. By the time Ian and I had both gotten inside, no one said a word. A thick silence hung in the air, making the room feel uncomfortable. The three sat on the couch staring at anything but me. I felt like they just witnessed me murder someone, they wouldn't even look at me. Still, no one said anything. Fine, they can be that way.
I started off to my room when Kalel first spoke, "Wait... What will he do to my mom?" I heard her voice shaking uncontrollably.
"I don't know." I barely whispered, quickly running to my room before anyone could say anything else to me.
I hopped into bed, not thinking about pajamas, and quickly fell asleep.
When I woke up I felt happiness, but then I remembered last night. I instantly hated the world and everyone in it. I'm not even going to talk to anyone today, I would end up hurting someone.
I grabbed clothes and silently, but quickly, sped to the bathroom so that no one would see me, nor talk to me.
Thankfully, I reached the bathroom and shut the door behind me, turning on the shower, and slipping out of my clothes. I hopped in and was out not long after, not wanting to attract attention.
I put on my other clothes and opened the door, about to walk out when Ian appeared, "Xhex, please talk to me."
I pushed past him, not saying a word or making eye contact. I walked into my room and slammed the door. I was done.
