-a couple hours earlier-
"Daryl! Carl!" Sophia yelled. She had ran the perimeter of the building multiple times as though she was sure that she would turn a corner and they would be there.
"Shhh! Shut up!" I demanded. "I'm really upset too but all your screaming is gonna get us eaten. They probably went after Sawyer. Not probably, definetly." I knelt down and picked up Rick's old sheriff hat that Carl wore around. Something in my stomach churned at the thought of Carl being taken away. I slipped the hat on my head so we wouldn't forget it. "We need to get home so we can tell the others."
"No. We should go after them." Sophia suggested, loading her revolver.
"Most definitely not." I put the bag of food on my back and started to walk the direction of home.
"Just because you're a year older than me doesn't mean you can call the shots." I continued to walk, knowing she would follow me. "Hey!" she said. "Greyson Gunner Holmes! You turn your ass around and listen to me!" I stopped and turned around. She stood there with her hand on her hip and a scowl on her face. "I know your secret and right now the boy you love is being taken to possibly his death. And I don't know about you but I wanna try and save him. So you walk your damn self that way," She threw her pointer finger in the direction they had gone. "and lets go save them!" She stormed off in the direction she had pointed and I willingly followed. I saluted her behind her back.
"Yes ma'am." What a tough girl.
"Can't you just bring me to her?" I pleaded. I had been kept in a room against my will and I was ready to kill to get to Sawyer. Merle looked at me and just shook his head.
"No can do, brother. She's havin' a little chat with the Governor." He wiggled his eyesbrows at me and I felt my face turn beet red. I threw my fist against the hardwood table and stood.
"He'd better not lay a finger on her!" I roared. I stood up and clenched my fists. Merle bursted into laughter. He thought this was all so amusing.
"Don't worry baby brother. He won't." He put his hand on my shoulder but I shrugged it off.
"How do I know that?! That bastard could be doing hell knows to her right now!" I was past the point of pissed off. I just wanted to go grab her and Carl and take them home where we were safe.
"She'll be fine as long as she doesn't fight him like she fought me." He rubbed his jaw. "I ended up breaking her nose." My eyes widened and my stomach clenched. "She hit the ground face first pretty fuckin' hard."
"You could've seriously hurt her!" I yelled. 'Think, Daryl, think!' "Or... or the baby." I didn't yell as loud the second time. I watched Merle's face drop. "We weren't gonna tell anyone, but it looks like you're the first." Merles expression was half confused, half surprised.
"That's why she's so special to me." I took several deep breathes, recapping what I had just said. "I can't let him hurt her, Merle. And now you know why." There was several minutes of silence.
"So you're telling me that..." Merle's voice trailed off.
"Yeah, I am." I put my face in my hands. "Sawyer's pregnant."
~AN~ hahahahahahah oops. Peace out, walkers!
