Ian's POV
_____________________
Ian awoke with a start, breathing heavily as he scanned the dark room. He sighed, rubbing his sleep-filled eyes as he climbed out of bed. He made his way over to his dresser and changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants, pulling on a pair of tennis shoes before heading downstairs. He walked over the the door, waving to a reading Seto before heading outside.
He began jogging down one of the forest trails, hoping to rid himself of the nightmare. The crisp morning air swirled around him as he traveled down the dusty trail. Dew droplets covered the grass, sparkling in the rays of the rising sun. Trees surrounded him as he traveled deeper into the mottled forest, their limbs stretching out above him. Leaves sprouted from their branches, casting a green glow as the sun's rays beat upon them.
He focused on his breathing, trying to clear his mind of the memories that haunted him. He increased his pace as he ran from their unrelenting grasp. The images projected themselves around him, replaying at every turn. They blended with reality in such a way that they became identical.
He ran for what felt like an eternity before skidding to a stop. He fell to his knees, holding his head in his hands. He closed his eyes, covering his ears as he blocked out the world around him. His racing heart began to slow as he controlled his breathing. He sat up and leaned against an old oak, its stiff bark rough against his back. He sighed as he ran his hand through his messy hair, beads of sweat covering his skin.
He pushed the memories the the back of his mind as he began to take in his surroundings. There was a small grassy field that was surrounded by trees. A slim creek ran along the tree line. Rounded stones covered it's basin and wildflowers grew at its edges. The water sparkled as the sun's light danced upon it. Bushes grew by the trees, wild berries dotting their thin branches.
Ian walked to the edge of the field and stood in the sun's warm rays. The bright light shown through his sunglasses, momentarily blinding him. He looked at the ground, freezing when his eyes landed on a dark red liquid. He stepped back as he followed the patchy, red trail with his eyes. It tapered off several meters away, and he could see a limp, bloody form at its end.

I know it's short, I just wanted to upload something. I'm currently working on the next part. I think what I'm going to do is upload more shorter chapters so I can upload more often. <(^ )
