Even though it was late January the weather was still harsh. Today we bad an appointment with Dr.Christopher. I wanted this meeting to be quick because I still wasn't to fond of leaving my child with anyone. Craig had called up a friend of the family to come over and watch Mya. Even though she was nice and looked stable, I still have a mother's instinct.
When we walked in the office smelled of pine from the Christmas tree that was way past due of being put up. Rachel was floating around in her normal bubbly mood.
"Craig, how are you ?" Dr. Christopher said as he came out of his office.
"I'm fine. How are you ?" Craig said standing up and shaking his hand.
"Ehh. I'm alive." He said now resting his eyes on me. "I see you've had the baby."
"Yes, I did." I said standing up to greet him.
"Well, let's get this over shall we." He turned on his heels and walked back to his office. He was all about his business and that's what I liked about him. He was straight forward and to the point. "Now the last time you were here we talked about the subjects that we would be touching on. Correct ?" Both me and Craig nodded in agreement.
"Alright then. Let's talk about Finaces." She said as I scoffed. Finaces have been a huge issue in our household. "Who, out of the both of you, spends the most most money on unnecessary things ?" He asked grabbing a pen and his notebook from off the desk.
"Craig does." I replied honestly to his question.
"I do not Shuntell and you know it." He retored back. "If anybody spends the most money on unnecessary things it's you."
"Since when does cheap liquor and dirty ass strippers become necessary? " I questioned.
"Since when does shoes and clothes become necessary?" He questioned back.
"They became necessary when I made the money to buy then. Hell, I pay most of the bill's in the house." I said.
"I pay the light bill." He retorted.
"That's the only bill you pay Craig. All I'm asking for is some help around the house." I said clearly frustrated.
"If I could add something here. Craig aren't you getting tired of the whole stripper scene ? You're married and you have a child now." Dr. Christopher said.
"Well sometimes I get tired of looking at the same ass every night. The same saggy boobs and wrinkling face." Craig spat. How could he be such an asshole ? After putting up with him and his careless decisions for years this is the thanks I get ?
I couldn't hold back my anger and to tell the truth I didn't want to. I am fed up and tired of all the stress and disrespect I have gotten from Craig. Carefully examining both Dr. Christopher's face, that is filled with shock and uncertainty, and Craig's face , that is filled with regret, I decided to bundle up my anger and hurt. I slowly slid my wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the couch beside craig. Then I stood up and smoothed my dress out.
"I want to apologize for wasting your time Dr.Christopher." I said as I walked out the door and closed it behind me.
Then it hit me.
I just walked out on everything my life had been for the past few years.
Three Months Later...
"Jacob, You make me the happiest woman alive and I will always stand by your side through thick and thin. I know we haven't been all that we thought we would be but all of that doesn't matter me me anymore. You're my husband and I'm your wife and at the end of the day, that's all that truely matters to me."
"Krysten, waking up to you everyday has been something that I will never regret doing. You and our beautiful baby girl that we are about to have are all I need and if I don't have the both of you then I'm incomplete. You're the one I want to spend the rest of my life with and I love you with every bone in my body."
We just renewed our vows and it felt wonderful. The crowd of friends and family clapped and cheered for us as we walked hand in hand down the ale. Each step I took away from the alter was a step closer to the rest of my life.
