Chapter Forty-Six

I woke up to something wet being placed on my neck. I tried to swat it away but it wouldn't go away. I didn't want to open my eyes because I wasn't ready to wake up yet and be faced with the world. I tightly held my eyes together but the wetness began to move down my neck to my collar bone. Now I knew what the wetness was, Cordell. His hand gently went up my shirt and lightly stroked circles into my skin. Sleep was not going to happen now for sure. He then used his soft lips to suck lightly on the spots he had already visited.

"Will I ever get to sleep in this house," I moaned opening one of my eyes to peak at him. "So you were awake?"

"I was trying to sleep but it seems like you have other plans." He moved closer to where I could smell his fresh minty breath. "Well, see I'm trying to make love to my future wife."

"Your future wife would like to sleep since she is carrying your big headed baby." He laughed out loud. "I think I have proven that my babies don't have big heads, Sapphire has proven that."

"You got lucky one time but who's to say that will happen again? I mean look at your head baby." I rubbed my hand over his head. He grabbed my left hand, "You didn't seem to have a problem with it when you said yes to marry me or when you let me put our baby inside you."

"You know something, you are absolutely right."

"Okay then, don't be stingy and give daddy what he wants." He crawled on top of me finally succeeding at his goal.

I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my body and went back into the room. Cordell was texting someone already half dressed. "Who you texting?"

"My grandad, telling him I would be there soon."

"Why are going there?"

"I'm going to pick him up and we are going to go to the new house to finish the remodel on the kitchen and the bathrooms."

"Why don't you just hire someone to do that babe? You and I both know you and Conrad are not the best fixer uppers."

"First of all, that is an insult to me and my grandad; do not ever let him hear you say that. Second, I can fix things. I fix things in this house all the time, thank you very much."

"If you say so," I laughed going to closet to find something to wear. "What are you doing today?"

"Well, I am going wedding dress shopping, finally."

"Bet my grandmother is loving this."

"Yes, she is. Between her and my mother, they have everything planned out to the tee. Honestly, I don't know why I'm even going, they don't need me." He walked up to me and grabbed me by the waist. "Don't let them take this special moment from you. This is your day and your time, make sure they know that."

"Our mothers aren't the best to stand up to in these kind of situations." I laid my head on his chest. He gently rubbed my back, "Trust me I know that but you can't let them take this away from you. Tell them what you want and make sure they stick to it."

"Can you do it for me instead? You are the mean boss, not me."

"I am not a mean boss."

"I think otherwise. My employees love me, yours are afraid of you."

"Doesn't matter, as long as they do what they are told there will be no problems."

"Like I said, the mean boss." I stepped away and went back to the closet. "Are you taking Sapphire with you?"

"Yea, she wants to help me fix on the new house. She has this cute little outfit picked out for the occasion."

"Maybe she can show you two how to really fix something." He pulled on a t-shirt and then put on his shoes. "I should be home around six, is that okay?"
